Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by musicrocksgbv,

Greetings! My name across the interwebz is musicrocksgbv. I have been into fantasy literature for as long as I can remember and my family and I have been reading the WoT books since before I could remember. It has been a longstanding favorite series and I'm glad to finally get around to joining a board where I can feed my WoT addiction(tribute to WoTmania...I will miss j00!). I was in high school when I found WoTmania with a fellow WoT fan in my class. It was a good thing. Other things I am into: I love reading. I love psychology and figuring things and people out. I love finding patterns in things. I love Japanese animes, music(most anything except country …

What have you found most confusing about Dragonmount thusfar? What is it that you don't think we have explained well enough for you, or are avoiding because you don't know enough about it?

  3. Started by Impressive Bosom,

I was one of the lucky ones who started reading the series shortly after the first book came out - back when I was in seventh grade. Its become a tradition for me to re-read the entire series up to the new release each time a book is published... but even so, with all of the time between them I am amazed at things I've let slip through the cracks of memory. Once I started browsing this board - stumbled across completely by accident - I realized that I had finally found home. Thanks for having me. :)

Newbie on deck, how's it going? Um, I'm in Australia, I've been reading the WOT series since I was 15, I work in the media, I'm a doco film maker "Spitfire Guardians" and "Mounted Steel" being my two films at this point (search those titles in youtube if you wish for trailers) I used to post over at wotmania a looooong time ago, can't even remember my login name or such, so having a fresh start here, especially since I love the new book TGS. Cheers all, SK

Hello all! I've glanced at this site and forums so many times in the past, as I've read through the series and searched for answers to some of the puzzles... but after finishing this last book I felt compelled to actually register and perhaps take a stab at some of the discussions. I'm not sure why entirely - maybe these forums help the book alive, like I'm still reading it? (or *gasp* real complusion? :o ) Regardless, I'm glad I did - everyone has such interesting comments! Anyhow, since brevity is not my strong suit, I'll end this post here before I get carried away - and once again, hi! :D

Hello, I've been lurking since... 1999 roughly and finally registered today. I have a lot of free time at work and this is one of the few boards that allows me to view it at work, minus most of the pictures because of the links to "photobucket" and "deviantart". So prouncing my name... most people on other forums call me Anox, or Nicci(Knee-See). Either one. :) Name doesn't literally mean "Daughter of the night", actually means (Moon child) but I like Lanfear, a lot... plus... I personally think I resemble her... slightly. :) I do have a question but I need to post it in the tech support area.. it has to do with logging in.

My name is smileyman, and I am a Wheel of Time addict. It's been a long journey for me. I first started reading the Wheel of Time right after the release of The Great Hunt in paperback. The Dragon Reborn was released when I was 14 years old, so I've been following the series for almost 20 years. I used to post regularly on the newsgroup rec.arts.sf.written.robert-jordan, but that's been dead for many years now. The Gathering Storm prompted me to find somewhere else to discuss the books, so I ended up here.

  9. Started by Tarkis,

Hello, I've begun to read Wot in 1994. I was a wotmania lurker, and I was quit fond of all the Theories. I'm French, so please forgive my numerous mistakes when I'll post (I'll try to write simple sentence, but it's still hard). My least loved character in Wot is Egwene, my favorites are Verin, Nynaeve and Mat.

Hi all, I'm new as a member, though I have been reading the forums for a long time. I used to post on wota.org, until it was taken by mashadar one night, and I have been unable to find it since. I cant remember my username off the top of my head, but if you used to post there between 1999-2002, then we probably know each other.

Hello everyone.... I am a long-time WOT fan. I used to poke in on WOTMANIA website on occasion, but never registered there. Well... after reading TGS this past week, I am bursting to talk with other fans, (guess I need to feed my WOT addiction :)) so I registered here. Can't wait to jump in on the boards. Sarilda

  13. Started by Jareth Bixx,

Okay, I have actually been lurking around DM for along long time, reading other member's contributions, and silently living out my days content to remain in the shadows. It has been many a year since I took an active voice in a Wheel of Time community and honestly, though I know none of you (yet), just this post feels like a homecoming for me. Like many of you I grew up reading the Wheel of Time, and yes I admit there were times during my formative years when it almost seemed as if Rand, Mat and Perrin were the only real friends I had. RJ's work in this series set the bar for me when it came to anything I read from then on. Very few authors have come close to doing …

This post is intended to both introduce myself and thank everyone in the Wheel of Time community on Dragonmount for creating and keeping alive a topic that represents one of my longest standing interests. I would never have initiated, constructed, or conceived of the idea to create a site such as this, and for that, I thank everyone involved. You all are amazing and I appreciate everyone from those with 20,000 posts to those with 1, thank you. To introduce myself: Hello! You can call me Relygin (Religion), or whatever you want. I enjoy reading, video games, anything out of doors, writing, and almost everything else, with no focus on anything in particular, listed or unl…

  15. Started by Kaknuckle,

Hello everyone. I'm very excited to join this site! I started reading The Wheel of Time in 1998 and have been hanging on every word since page 1. This is by far my favorite series, though I enjoy many. My other favorite books and authors include The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, the Ender series by Orson Scott Card, The Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin, anything by Jeff and Michael Shaara, Neil Gaiman (including the Sandman series), and James Clavell. I've read most of the Sword of Truth series by Goodkind, but thought it was too derivative of other popular series, and too repetitive between books. Of course I enjoyed Tolkien, but thoug…

  16. Started by Ayyad Azryelle,

Hello all, I bought my first Wheel of Time book in 2003, but at the time my English was barely good enough for reading Harry Potter. I only started to read in 2004, it was very difficult for me at first (due to a few language problems) but the story was so gripping I kept on reading - and improving my English ;) I used to lurk a lot on wotmania, and sometimes a bit on here. I tend to lurk on all forums I'm on and here is unlikely to be an exception. I'll try not to lurk too much but people have already posted so much about the Gathering Storm (I've read it :) )that there's probably not much for me to add. And I'm not into role-playing so no posts there ei…

Well hello everyone! I'm a newbie to the boards, just looking around to get myself acquainted and trying to decide which org I'm going join first.... Might end up being a case of eenie, meenie, minee, mo! I'm still in the process of reading the books. Having recently reacquainting myself with them after a long hiatus. I've actually been purchasing them one at a time and reading them as I go (had enough of borrowing them from the library!). By the time I get to tGS, the last 2 books will be out already! ::) xx

Hey everyone what is going on? My name is Chuck and for all wondering the PhailanofKeilfost would be said Failin of Kayle'Fahst. I've had ppl get confused on that one.Ayway big fan of fantasy books, Finally killed Terry Brooks's massive Shannara/Word&Void series then moved onto Terry Goodkind and have basically been obssesed with the Sword of Truth series... The TV show has just killed it for me. So a friend tells me about Robert Jordan ... never heard of him, crazy I know.So I just started the series I'm halfway through TEOTW and I'm hooked. Looking forward to talking with you all and seeing how the series all turns out. Peace!

  19. Started by lillcheese,

I joined immediately after finishing TGS. I posted a facebook status message about the book and realized not a single one of my friends has read WoT (except for the one who hooked me on it in the first place). Anyway, I can't wait until the spoiler thread opens up to new topics. I came up with a new (i think) theory about the KC and no one has discussed it - not even to tell me I'm crazy. I can't tell if that's a good or bad sign. This site has been entertaining, though it seems many people feel no need to go and read a thread before posting in it. There needs to be some sort of rule about that. I suppose I should mention, I'm in Wisconsin. Call me C…

  20. Started by Rednax,

I'm not real good at introductions but I'll give it my best shot. I am a big fan of WoT, even though I haven't read all the books so far. I am currently on the 5th book and I am trying to get through the series as fast as I can, but at the same time I don't want it to end so fast. I got into WoT almost ten years ago. I know, I know 10 years and I'm only on the 5th book. The reason it has taken me so long is because I've had one of those lives that has kept me busy and focused on trying to make it in this world. That and the fact that WoT is so big and some times confusing, so I have gone back and re-read the first three or four books several times. I like all th…

Been reading the series since middle school (right around when the 3rd book came out) and had to skip a day of lectures to finish tGS. Want to know more? ask. Want to hang out in Pittsburgh? Please ask! Only know school peeps and would like to branch out.

Hello everyone! Im a long time lurker who finally decided to register and be done with it! My name is Aden aka Phaedra and I live in the AZ desert. First got into WoT back in 2004 when a friend said I simply must read them. Been hooked ever since and am trying to get my girl friends into the series. I hate being the only girl I know who enjoys them. I am currently working on making my own WOT companion with all the prophecies/viewings/dreams all in one place so I can keep them straight. Yes...I most likely would have been a brown. I prefer the green however. I dont see why a green cant have some brown characteristics...anyway I digress. Really hate doing these in…

  27. Today I finally decided to register here! I'm a 15 year old boy from Norway, I play piano and bass guitar, and I'm an active member of the Young Liberals of Norway. I'm hoping to get admitted to a music high school next year. My brother introduced me to WoT in December 2008, and in April 2009 I had finished KoD. I'm now reading TGS, almost finished now, just about 200 pages left. :)

Hi there, Many of you may know me from a different site. I use the same name there, only with a ' between O and Leia. :) I'm a wife, mother, friend, singer, dancer, avid reader, and I like writing poems sometimes. Creating things in Photoshop is also something I enjoy. It was a friend that introduced me to Wheel Of Time. She actually bugged me until I started reading the books. Today I'm really grateful for that. Am reading The Dragon Reborn now, and this is my first read-through of the WOT series.

Hello, I wanted to say hello, but also to say I will most likely be lurking for a while. I have been reading, re-reading, and waiting for the next book since the first one hit the shelves. I also enjoy other fantasy novel series and read them cyclically too. Among my other favorites are David Eddings, Terry Brooks and Tad Williams. I hope that I will get to know many of you over the next forever it takes to wait for the next installment.

Hi! I've been lurking around Dragonmount for quite some time, and finally decided to register. I've read all the books at least once, several twice, and I've listened to the audio books twice through. (yay for mindless jobs that let you use an ipod) I've been involved with WoT discussion online for about 8 years now, though mostly through a mud game that I rp in. I'm excited about things that happened in tGS and wanted to join the discussion. :D
