Hi, I've read books 1 - 7 abour 4 or 5 times now, certainly 1-5 5 times, but books 8 and 9 i've only read once, 10 i started reading, couldnt remember what everyone was up to and started again. I have book 11 but have never even picked it up yet. Now, I'm a pain in my OWN butt for 'reading the last page' or in the case of this forum, being unable to resist reading the spoilers. My fault, there you go. So, it happens that I know that this small, young, overly confident woman with silver hair who has just stepped through the doorway with Moghedien in Graendal's home is actually Lanfear re-incarnate. I know it, Moghedien likely knows it, Cyndane CERTAINLY k…

Does anyone know for sure who they were? If so, do you know what their instructions were? Perhaps one or both of them were told to steal the terangreals from the white tower (or that could have been Messana's doing)? Force Masrim Taim to serve the shadow? What did Ishy tell those women to do? I recognized some of what he told Bors to do (in later books). What happened in later books that resulted from the orders given to the Aes Sedai at that meeting? Must have been pretty high ranking Black Ajah to be at that meeting, right? Galina? I used to wonder if one was Moraine because she was "away" from Fal Dara at the same time as Lord Ingtar was on an extended…

About the poll: persuade to turn logically means trying to make Forsaken turn via pure reason; using Chair of Remorse and/or other forms of mental pressure is what it says. 4) and 5) means first trying to persuade logically, and it that fails, 2) or 3), 6) and 7) means first trying to persuade logically, if that fails trying other forms of mental pressure - if that fails, 2) or 3). 8) and 9) means arguing both logically AND utilizing other forms of mental pressure in order (e.g. the Chair) so as to increase the chances the turn will be genuine, if it doesn't work - then 2) or 3). 10) means trying to convert them until they crack or have a last reunion …

This is my idea for a WoT MMO game. I've been thinking of this for a little while, and would like the input from people here. Mainly just to fantasize about how utterly cool such a game could be. Well, here goes. Wheel of Time MMORPG It is my firm opinion that the only kind of game that can hope to capture the charm of Randland, and satisfy the need of fans to experience that world to its fullest. I’ve been thinking about this for awhile, and here I’m going to try and organize my thoughts. Setting 20 years after Tarmon Gaidon. Any game taking place during the series is going to suffer from everyone wanting to be Rand or Mat, much like Star Wars Galaxies…

When Perrin first chased Slayer in the Wolf Dream, does anyone think Slayer actually entered the Tower Of Genjhi, or did he just duck behind it and phase out of the dream. If his powers as the Shadow's assassin allow him to enter, and leave, voluntarily, that could answer the question of who actually killed Lanfear.

How would Moraine be able to survive any time at all as a captive to an unfriendly, non-human, moderately evil (according to Birgitte) race with a penchant for really supple leather? My answer is that she probably wouldn’t unless she was able to channel. To me, this casts a bit of doubt on the assumption that she and Lanfear both were severed. I acknowledge that Lanfear was almost certainly burnt out. Moraine claws the angreal away from her as they go through the redstone doorway. Lanfear was drawing every shred of the Power through that angreal and to lose contact with it like that would certainly have burned her out. That is likely the reason Moraine put i…

I remember way back in the day when WOT only consisted of six books, most fans seemed to love Perrin. Since then, however, many fans seem to have fallen away from him some even to the point of despising him. So do you think that Perrin will really shine in AMoL and regain the fans' respect, or will he continue more or less as he has in the last 5 books? What do you predict?

I was in a state of insomnia last night, and one of the things I was I was thinking about had to deal with the languages of randland. In randland, there are 3,4,5 and possibly 6 distinctly isolated populations, whom all came from the same language (old tongue). Yet, they all now speak the same langauge (common tongue). With of course, there own unique words for things within there culture. IE the seanchan speak common, yet they have a few old tongue words they use every day, as well as other unique words, 'to'raken' for example. Aiel are the same way. And the same for mainlanders. The People beyond the aiel wastes *sharan's?* most likely speak the common tongue with a fe…

This theory it’s still very much in its infancy. I have provided my own point/counterpoint arguments at the bottom. I was thinking about a part of Nicola Treehill's foretelling: "he who is dead yet lives" And the Prophecy: “To live you must die” and it occurs to me that there is another way these could be looked at. "he who is dead yet lives" Could this not loosely describe the Heroes bound to the horn? They are "dead" in that they no longer have corporeal bodies, but they "live" in Tel'aran'rhiod. When we first meet Birgitte, she is dead and probably has been for some time, yet Perrin and Nyneave both hold lengthy conversations wi…

I have been waiting to see if someone else starts this topic so I can comment. Does anyone else feel like Min cost Rand his hand and maybe his vision? She like all the other idiot women in this story are affronted by the men around them wanting to protect them and keep them safe. What part of "Min, I love you more than life so please don't go to this possibly dangerous meeting. If you go I will be distracted an worried for your safety, and I really need to focus on this meeting," is so awful. So he goes to this meeting gets sick trying to channel to protect himself, then gets a fireball hurled his way. He would simply dodge but Min is behind him so he takes the fire…

If the Horn was used against the Light and the Dark won, how come the Wheel still turns and the Dark One is still imprisoned???? Did RJ forget about that (i doubt it) or is it because the Dark One was never able to break the wheel? Will he ever break the Wheel? Is the Pattern more powerful than the Dark One?

I am new to this forum so i dont know the...ah...customs, yet. But i have noticed that people seem to have no regard for spoilers. suredly some do, but just as suredly some dont. I clicked what seems to be a harmless post and instaed found a spoiler for what appears to be a pivitol plot point. I was sickened if you must know the truth. i have read almost ever book except the last and that is where the spoiler came for. horrid luck maybe, careless-ness on my part perhaps, but i dont think so. I hate spoilers. they ruin everything. If you wanna chat about certain poitns in certain books feel free, no one can or will or should stop you, after all, this forum is what thats fo…

Some of the forsakens are really foolish it seems, Lanfear could have easily used compulsion on Rand so she could get that ter'angreal, but her "passionate" love for him blocked out her sense; Graendal is hiding, Mohedien is just shameful, and the worst of all was probably (my favorite forsaken) Semirhage. Her capture was just plain stupid...the forsaken really has no plannings...was there something else they could have done? but i think the pattern itself works against them....

What is the best joke in the books. The one Rand told about the roster was funny. All the Aiel jokes are good too.

The Fade that is about to kill Mat in TSR says "Time to die, Hornsounder" That more than inplies that the Shadow knows Mat blew the horn, something which shouldn't be know by more than a handful of people, none of which are DFs. Moraine Verin Suian Rand Perrin Faile Hurin Nynaeve Elayne Egwene Doesn't make sense so I must be missing something?

Well we have titles for everyone else. Perrin is a Wolfbrother which gives him all his abilities. Rand is a Channeler which gives him his abilities. Egwene is a Dreamer.... But Mat. He has the dice in his head that warn him and he has all his luck. What do we call that??? I probably sound confusing but I can't really place where his abilities came from or if it is simply something totally new in Randland. I guess his luck could have been from being Ta'veren but what about the dice in his head??????????

Ok just re-reading TDR last night i found something that could suggest mat can channel himself. chapter 20, page 229, from what i heard later in the series rand senses that females are channeling near him by the goose bumps. So does this mean that mat could possibly channel? Also Mat is linked to the horn but later in the books he supposidly dies after Rhudien(SP?)and is hanging on th tre. Does this mean that he is free from the link of the horn? this is my first real post here so be gentle :P

I've never really been satisfied with the depictions of characters on the book covers (eg: Rand and Mat sometimes look 40 years old..). So I've browsed the net looking for artwork of the different characters. Most of the art doesn't live up to my standards (nynaeve with blonde hair???), so I only have a few pictures in my little file. I've also seen a thread or two with suggestions as to which actors should play Tylin or Padan Fain, etc., in a movie. I liked the suggestion for Egwene alot, but have never found an image that IS Moiraine, Lan, Mat, Perrin, Rand, or Elayne. My question is, taking into account all the WOT art out there, and all the actors and actresses…

This is what i would like to see in AMOL. Rand will send Logain to take control of the Black Tower. Then he will meet up with Mat and them two will go meet Tuon. Rand and Tuon will be allies for the last battle only. The white tower will be attacked, Ewgene will take control of that. Lan's, Bershir's and other armys will come together to face the shadowspawn on the edge of the blight. When that is taking place Rand and Ewgene will lead the white and black towers to SG and end the battle. A lot of little details are missing but Brandon will fill them in I hope.

I noticed something strange about the Aiel that I think must be an error or inconsistency on the part of RJ. The Aiel refer to people by both their first and last names, and via Aviendha POV's, we know that she feels awkward just calling someone by their first name, as per Aiel custom, you only do that when you're really close to somebody. But the thing is...Aiel don't actually have last names. It could be a custom that just refers to wetlanders, but since they're so rare in the Waste, I doubt any of them have ever stuck around long enough to get buddy buddy with an Aiel. Anyway, that's just a little something that finally jumped out at me after thre…

I always kind of thought AV was pregnant from the tryst in the snow but obviously she is not.....but the way the wise ones were acting and making a big deal out of her after.... What I wonder is if RJ had planned on her being pregnant but then thought better of it.... if you read the section with the wise ones afterward. they sure are acting like AV was. Mat and silver.... will silver kill the gholam or does it have to be mat's amulet? Mat could make some silver shot and make a shotgun with a tube and fireworks and.. BAM... no more gholam. that is how he takes down the gholam. thoughts? TwoRivers Born.
