Why do people say that each part the series gets worst ? I have heard "The first part was the best, the rest just get too long and boring" numerous times and it really bothers me. I only see the story getting more interesting. So is it due to me not having enough experience in fantasy or is it just people who can't do anything else but bash on a really good series ? That's all haha :) May you find water and shade friends :)

Now that I have finally finished aMoL I feel I can finally return to these forums. One thing I would like to know everyone's thoughts on is the casualties of the Last Battle: Were you surprised by any charterers dying? Or were there any characters you expected to die that made it through? Sorry if this has been discussed earlier, I did perform a search but have been absent since aMoL was released. I guessing huge amounts of discussion has been missed. I for one wasn't really surprised by anyone dying, but I did expect Tam and Cadsuane to die during the Last Battle.

The Bodyswap Theory - Updated The bodyswap theory began during one of the original discussions about the possibility that the Third Man that Rand began to see in his dreams during tPoD was Moridin. It was based on an attempt by me to solve certain contradictions between the prophecies that relate to Rand's death--contradictions which I thought might be solvable if a link between Rand and Moridin truly did exist. I've always meant to update it, but I just couldn't find the energy. I figure now, with tGS still fresh in people’s minds, is as good a time as any. Rand's Death; A Plethora of Prophecy! There has been a lot of theories over the years to expl…

I don't need to defend my statement, I enjoyed whole series. Is no way RJ wouyld have allowed a set piece "Last Battle" Gateways ...Drop dragon eggs threu them, jeese If forces of light combined strength at a chosen battle field ....bypass them Robert Jordan would have written a way different ending. CMON!! Edit: I enjoyed the BS version of the last battle immensely except for Olver {Will Wheaton) blew the horn and that for some strange reason, thousands upon thousands of trollocs rushed a particularly unimportant army at a way bad spot.

Not to mention eternal life! Really, what do you do for 400-600 years? 1. How many times can one be able to falling in love? As I see, most people had enough relationships before 60! 2. Ok, one can travel all the time, meeting with new cultures etc. but after 5-6 new countries you have seen everything, so you are bored again. 3. Learning new jobs, learning new scientific stuff is good for a while but as I see, old people don't wanna learn new stuff, they just want their little social web around them. So, why would anybody want to live forever?

I was curious if the heroes of the horn actually rode any horses when they came back? maybe that's why bella had to die before the horn was blown? like was she bound to the horn? I didn't understand why bella who has been there since the begining had to die, maybe she is a horse hero reborn? lol

Hello! Fresh blood to the forum here, been lurking some but never signed up until now. Well yeah, as the description tells you, i am building the White Tower in this block based sandbox game called Minecraft. Allow me to catch your interest by showing off my current progress. Now please calm your inner WoT-Nerd. i am fully aware of my complete disregard for canon architecture and so is the artist who drew the fan-art that I've somewhat blatantly copied from. I'm sure most of you have already seen this fan-art I'm speaking of, but to you who hasn't here's his deviantart, you'll find the picture there. http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=wheel%20of%20time%20white%20t…

I know this makes me appear like a whiner and possibly a troll though I feel I'm very far from that. I loved what BS did and think nobody could have done better. So maybe this isn't my biggest gripe but still ranks high up there. Outside of Olver living for 5 paragraphs after intro without dying from sudden onset syphilis or ebola, I think Mat was treated as an 8 year old twit in MoL. Mat was many things, stupid not amongst them ...mostly, he always reminded me of a sort of Han Solo, lol. But in MoL, he behaved so stupidly in his interations with Tuon and other characters that I find it very hard to believe that anyone, much less Egwena, would entrust …

  15. So, we know that ta'veren are not common, so uncommon that even being someone/doing something that effects millions of lives is does not get you to ta'veren status. (see, Egwene) But we also know that Siuan has the Talent of seeing ta'veren, and didn't just realize it on the fly when she came to Fal Dara. So that must mean that somebody during Siuan's lifetime was also a ta'veren, somebody that Siuan would have been in position to come into contact with, but not somebody that Siuan interacts with in New Spring (I may be misremembering, but I don't think she used her Talent during that book) My guess is: King Laman. He certainly became the focal point of the worl…

  16. In the prologue of Eye of the World we see Lews Therin going mad and killing himself. From that point on we witness Rands battle with madness and PTSD throughout the series. We don't know much about the balefire weave other than the destructive nature of it, which is obviously one of the reasons why it was banned, but it also appears that crossing balefire weaves has a bonding effect much different than the one that the Aes Sedai use. In the epilogue Rand was able to swap bodies to escape death and while riding off in the sunset light a pipe without any perceivable outside force. I think this is a foreshadowing of Rands next battle with the Dark One. I believe that Ro…

Characters: interactions were awesome though have beefs with Mat's portrayal and Perrin's whole role, ...really let down there. Rand's battle with the DO: WOW, would have never thought might be a battle of ideologies too. So cool. There is way more but dang page wants to keep booting me just as almost finish lol. 18. I am currently listening to the audiobooks of Piers Anthonys' Incarnations of Immortality series. The fifth book Being a Green Mother is about a young woman with the ability to perform music that envokes magic. On her quest searching the Llano, a mysterious song and all powerfull song she joins the Gipsys. They are described as a peacefull folk that loves music and dreaming of finding the Llano. The Gipsys love to dance and they perform an erotic, evocative dance called the Tanana. Of course the Gipsys or better said the Romani exist and are the obvious inspiration for the Tuatha'an in the wheel of time series. But I wonder: Did Being a Green Mother inspire the p…

I was very hesitant to read the final book, not for fear of it not living up to my expectations, but because I knew once I read it it would be over. Which was a devastating feeling. The night I finished it I couldn't sleep. I layed in bed tossing and turning for hours. I eventually went and reread the epilogue and tears were streaming down my face the whole way through. It is sad that it is over, but have decided to reread the whole series from the start, knowing how everything will turn out and see what more I may notice that I didn't on previous read throughs. So today I started rereading Eye of the World and I have a question. The Cloaked Rider, Is that sopposed …

  20. Right now lets compile a list of main - minor characters. I just decided to make this topic because someone reminded me of the Sulin - Rand relationship and how extraordinary it was simply since she was one of the few who truly respected Rand in public and in private put him in his place. Her reaction to when he was captured was phenomenal. I won't quote it because I am about to go read it again.

  21. I'd like to apologize beforehand if I posted this in the wrong discussion. I started reading Wheel of Time several years back. I got through The Shadow Rising and was about 2/3 of the way through Fires of Heaven when I stopped reading (this was a year or two ago). Now that the final book is out, I've had an urge to reread it and this time actually finish it. The problem is, due to my friends and the internet, I've already had some major plot points spoiled for me (VAGUE SPOILERS: I know the big thing that happens in the 9th book, and Darrell K. Sweet's original sketch for A Memory of Light seems to have spoiled the ending). Taking this into consideration, is it still …

[[i've only read through The Gathering Storm, no spoilers please]] . . . . . . . I was gobsmacked by how *quickly* Semirhage gave into Cadsuane's spanking. I understand that the Forsaken are, above all, selfish and power-hungry people...and that the seat of Semirhage's power is her own ego. But seriously, compared to how long Galina Casban held out being tortured by the Shaido, I was actually pretty disgusted by her behavior. I could have sworn RJ/BS was pulling a fast one by invisibly swapping Moghi for Semi in that scene.

what was the point of Setalle, Slayer, Fain after WH, Naeff, all I can think of at the moment. If we hadn't been told Setalle was the one who is no longer, she wouldn't be on my list, but as an unhealed AS, I don't see her function. Slayer killed wolves sure but in the end it made absolutely no difference. As for Naeff, we could've had Nyneave heal the madness of any pre-established ashaman. The most annoying part of slayer to me is we will never know why Gitara sent him to the blight

  24. Started by False Dragon1991,

For me its undeniably The Great Hunt. Great introduction with Rand being told he is the dragon by the Aes Sedai. Loved all of the visions that Nynaeve, Egwene and Rand have. Some really solid and evocative character pieces there; especially with how Rand slowly comes to accept his destiny as the dragon reborn; something which the novel concludes with. On top of that we have the capture of the girls by the incredibly villainous Seanchan. The sheer helplessness of their plight, coupled with the severity of the threat posed by these unexpected arrivals makes it so reqarding when they break free and everything kicks off at the end. This is done later on with Faile but somehow…

    Started by Guest Kathy Foley,

In several places, Egqene says how she hates spinning because it hurts her fingers from twisting the fibers. If she's using her fingers to twist the fibers, she's doing it wrong. The spinning wheel or spindle twists the fibers, and all your fingers do is pinch and release to control the amount of spin that the spunning wheel puts into the fibers. It's especially easy with wool, since the fibers are soft and slightly oily, so thet actually moisturise your skin while you spin. Just had to say that

  27. Started by Lightflame,

Of course he's not. RJ himself said Taimandred was not true, so that means it now has as much credibility as claiming Tamandred just because Taim and Tam have similar names and Taim was once thought to be Demandred. No the answer is far craftier than those new theories that suggest Demandred is really Grady/Naeff/Rhuarc/Dyelin/Weiramon/Perrin/Flinn/Androl/Mat/Bashere/Egwene/Gawyn/Galad/Rand/Moiraine/Thom/Superman/Darlin/The Dark One/One Of The Dark One Seals. Obviously Demandred is Cenn Buie. There is so much proof. For example, Rand, Mat, and Perrin often mentioned early in the story that Cenn Buie was old. Channelers gain extra lifespan, so Cenn could be old because…

  28. Started by deep.rest,

Near the beginning of the Great Hunt there is this description of Rand and his bow: "His unstrung bow stood propped in the corner with Mat's and Perrin's...He had made it himself since coming to Fal Dara, and besides him, only Lan and Perrin could draw it." I know it probably sounds rather silly, but how did he know that only the three of them could draw it, and what was the point of mentioning it? It gives me this idea that Rand walks around with his bow asking everyone he can find to try drawing it and then adding the names of those who can't to a list he keeps in his pocket. Or, maybe it was just to let us know how bad-ass strong Rand is ^.^

  29. Started by Occams whiskey bottle,

If memory serves me correctly...there is a crossing of balefire streams resulting in the Saa (?) floating around eyes, and a body swap in the epilogue. So how are all three connected. I also assume that the lighting of the pipe is connected with all of this to. Any theories or corrections?

I know a lot of you joke about Bela being The Creator. That's great and all, but it's time you get serious for a moment. ...because it's no joke. I appreciate that there are some of you who realize this and are not joking, because it is so obvious. RJ has clearly shown us in the past that Bela is The Creator. Let's take a look. Example one: From Lord of Chaos Chapter 34 Is it a coincidence that you can find the word "Creator" spelled in the same sentence as Bela's name, probably multiple times (but that one there stood out the most obvious to me)? I think not. And obviously Bela's appearance by the statue is a sign that Bela is The Creator, because as…
