I have a feeling that at least one completely unseen/crazy theory may just come true in this book. I'm interested in what completely off the wall theory people have come up with that could just come true. I'm not talking about the well thought out ideas your sure about, but that thousand to one shot that you've come up with only to say nah, could never happen. I'd like to hear those theories the crazier the better. (Though all are still technically possible) A couple of examples. Targ theory: Taim is really Narg reborn in a human body, because the Dark One decided to reward him due to the fact 'Narg smart'. Bela is the Creator: The creator decided he(/…

I'm collecting here various bits of thoughts/evidence that I think link up Tel'aran'rhiod and Reality/Creation. I predict that a lot of this will be made clear in aMoL. Some of this I've already put into another theory here before, but I'm collecting all my thoughts now, and also trying to predict how the DO will be finally Sealed based on all this. 1) Reality will be revealed to be a fold of Tel'aran'rhiod. TAR being the third constant has deeper meaning than we now know. 2) The Creator maintains the folding of TAR that is Reality, and all within this Reality are forced to follow his rules, which includes the complex mechanism of the Wheel. This the Creator has …

So, I started lurking again about a year ago. I finely made a new user name a month or so ago when I couldn't remember my login details and I have some questions ! A) why do a lot of people think Bashere is a dark friend? It seems totally out of context with his character. B) What has led some people to think Roderan is Demandred ? Process of elimination? C) Cadsuane: like / dislike?! I love her and I did not like a lot of the strong female characters RJ wrote. So it is both interesting to me that BS struggles with her but excels with Nynaeve. (I do consider her a bully who views herself beyond reproach btw insofar as the discussion on the other thread so I do…

Seanchan Prophecy; Fact or Fiction Essanik Cycle vs. Karetheon Cycle Firstly, just a quick disambiguation. I've seen people stating that the Seanchan Prophecies are the Essanik Cycle, whilst the Westland Prophecies are the Karetheon Cycle. This is not so--the Seanchan have the Karetheon Cycle also, they just have an additional set of prophecies about the Dragon which they've put together in the Essanik Cycle. We have no indications that the Essanik Cycle has been played with at all--indeed the only prophecy from it that we've seen turned out to be true. So, for clarity, the Karetheon Cycle seems to be a compilation of foretelling made during the first fort…

Just throwing this out there for discussion. Anyone think there's a chance they show up for the Last Battle? Our last PoV involving them was their retreat back to the Waste after Malden, but I'd be surprised if they didn't want to get in on a piece of the action at Tarmon Gai'don.

I was browsing the interview database and I noticed the following quote What redundancy can he be talking about? I don't think we've seen any. The only thing I can think of is that she sent Alanna to Arafel to deal with the Waygate there that the Trollocs use for transport. There is a Waygate on the border of Arafel and the Blight.

I'm on my 7th or so reread of the series and it seems I notice something new every time. I couldn't find where this has been mentioned before, but it occurred to be when rereading TFOH that maybe RJ slipped in a bit of a redshirt reference with Pevin. He even takes the time to point out that he's wearing a red shirt before his demise. I guess there isn't really much to discuss on this, but I enjoy catching RJ's more subtle references and jokes such as this. Like how Elayne keeps getting the veil in her mouth in Tarabon because she walks with her nose up or RJ's cameo appearance as the story telling Ter'Angreal.

I wrote this originally as a reply to a minor comment made by Peter Ahlstrom. As I wrote it, it came to respect everything I feel and think in regards to Brandon's work on the Wheel. I am aware that my position on the Wheel has created antagonism. I acknowledge that the antagonism I have created has not been beneficial toward the experience ot the end of the Wheel. This.... I don't know what this does. Here it is anyway. I have not changed it in the slightest in choosing the create a thread rather than simply have it be a reply. It's funny that they don't seem to have that perception. And look Peter, yes mistakes will always occur in a series of …

Is there anyplace where there are actual spoilers? Like from early readers or whatever? I would never read them, and won't even touch this website after the 8th until I finish it (I know things will be labeled *spoiler* but I don't want to risk it) but I am just curious. Since I work a 12 hour day on the 8th, my wife threatened to read the last chapter and tell me what happens, so I won't be speaking to her either, so DM and my wife will be equally avoided.

This has always bothered me and I noticed it again on a recent reread. In DR when Moiraine and co are in Illian she goes away somewhere and when she comes back she announces that Sammael is in charge there. She does the same thing later in the book when she very quickly finds out that Bel'al rules in Tear. How did she find that out? Neither of them advertised their true identities and Moiraine is not Black Ajah. So how could she possibly know? She could figure out that some Forsaken were ruling in Illian and Tear because of the nightmares people were having but that wouldn't tell her the names. The only theory I've seen on the issue is that Sammael has a distinctive sca…

I have a question and I did a search but didn't find the answer. If it is out there and I did not find it then I apologize up front. In New Spring, Moraine was convinced that Cadsuane is a Darkfriend. My question is, has there been any definite proof to the contrary? Things I know: She wasn't on Verin's list. Verin elected not to poison her as a result of their conversation. I certainly hope she is not and I wonder if Moraine still thinks she is a DF.

This one is IMO the first one worth voting on, though I can add other questions to the poll later. There are a few good possibilities, and some not so good that I have included in the poll choices, but I think the strongest argument is for Nynaeve. DaoineSidhe beat me to my arguments, but believe it or not I had the same thought on all those points independently, unless I read that post when I had just woken up and only subconsciously registered it. (Which I admit is possible.) I'm not trying to vie for bragging rights; just saying, the evidence is that strong. First, the cons. Nynaeve is a channeler; obviously the damane issue will need to be resolved for this to hap…

Hey All, I'm currently going through the books again in prep for the Jan release and happened to look through the forums a couple weeks ago. I'm now on Winter's Heart and came across something that I thought might fit the Big Unnoticed thing. I reread Lucker's pinned post and didn't see anything about: THE MALE ADAM I think it fits the requirements of first coming into the books in books 4-6 since it was part of the 'finding something that's dangerous to Rand' sequence and found by Nyneave and Elayne in Tanchico. Once they hand it in hand and were leaving in haste, they gave it to Bale Domon to drop in the ocean. But Egeanin and Bale kept it and have…

What would you be? Aes Sedai, Asha'man, Wise One, Windfinder, Damane, Sul'dam, wilder, dreadlord, or Forsaken? I would be an Asha'man on Logain's side. i would like to have a talent in healing and have a double bond with an Aes Sedai.

I like this quote because it gives us context for the future of Randland. The two most important things that went wrong in the vision Aviendha saw for the future were the role of the Aiel and the collaring of channelers. Both resolutions are suggested in this quote. The Aiel must return to the Way of the Leaf, and Tuon must take an Oath. An interesting question—and one I think will inevitably cause continuity problems, and would have even if RJ had written it—is the question of how those prophecies were fulfilled in the future that Aviendha saw. These two, however, are not very problematic. In fact, the future Aviendha saw is a more literal interpretation of the Aiel …

Okay so long before she was Lanfear she was Mierin, we know from the books that she was part of the team that drilled the bore, in part because she was looking for a power source more powerful than the True Source. Having just read the article on the 13th dep. It made me wonder whether she had actually experimented on herself to increase her own natural power outside of an Angrael or Sa'angrael. She was after all one of the most power hungry channellers during the Age of Legends and I dont think its totally unreasonable to assume that if she did find some way to modify herself then she would do so and that she would more than likely keep it to herself so that no o…

I made a comment on Herid’s blog entry related to the Eye of the World, and Herid asked me to repost for additional discussion. The theory is basically that Rand will reseal the Bore using a Well. LTT’s attempt to seal the Bore was flawed, from tGS: The problem was not merely that LTT touched saidin to the Dark One, but rather that he touched saidin from the True Source to the Dark One. If Rand used saidin drawn from a Well instead, the Dark One would have no direct link to the True Source; he would merely be connected to the Well. This leads to the question of where could Rand possibly find a Well with enough Power to reseal the Bore and/or rebuild t…

I was rereading through the series, when I noticed a part in CoT chapter 17. Janya is talking to Egwene about Nicola's foretelling's, one is The Dragon Reborn performing nine impossible things. I assumed the first was him cleansing Saidin since he was doing it as they were speaking, meaning the foretelling had to have been prior to him cleansing Saidin. My question is what could the other eight be?

The idea of this thread is to discuss Elayne's personality and whether she deserves the negative comments it routenely get from WoT fans. It isn't about whether her plotline, her as a character, or her personality are boring or whether you found the Succession plotline too long, so please don't post about this. Admittedly I am rather biased in Elayne's favour, but I've always found it a bit baffling that so many WoT readers express the opinion that she's a terrible person. I don't think this claim is supported by the text. I've seen plenty of people call Elayne selfish and I can't see it at all. Time after time she risked her life to save or help others. She stay…

I'm rereading The Fires of Heaven and I'm at the point where Rand enters TAR in the flesh and becomes misty as LTT, or the memories of as we later learn, attempt to take over and reform Rand in LTT's image. This makes me wonder if this is some type of foreshadowing on how Isam and Luc switch forms. We've never saw IIRC Luc and Isam switching forms, we have however saw some of the results with the Battle for the Two Rivers when Perrin shot Isam in the wolfdream. "He felt odd. Insubstantial. He raised his arm, and stared. He could see the garden through coatsleeve and arm as through a mist. A mist that was thinning> When he glanced down, he could see the walk's …

I was thinking of starting this topic. There is still so much going on I doubt everything will be resolved in this final book. Having said that here are somethings I would like to see happen in the final book but I'm not sure we'll see it. Setalle Anan become an Aes Sedai again. Egwene meeting Fortuona Fortuona channeling, particularly to bond Mat or save him Lan learning Moirane is alive White tower Black tower join together Birgitte finding Gaidal Elayne to replicate Mats Medallion correctly Shara being shown, explained, or otherwise the people appear to help with the last battle Galad to find out Rand is his Half brother the Seanchan Ogier to meet Loi…

What caused the taint? Now, I know the Dark One was responsible; but was the "Dark one's Backlash" caused by the Dark One actually lashing out, or was it caused by Saidin coming in contact with the Dark ONe/Dark One's Prison? The reason I ask this is simple: if, like I always thought, the Dark One did it consciously as a counter strike...why didn't the Dark One just put it back in place after Rand cleansed the Source?

In honor of The Wheel of Time Reread reaching the end of Towers of Midnight, and thus all the currently-published books, we’re featuring the ebook art for Towers of Midnight, illustrated by Raymond Swanland and featuring Perrin Aybara, Lord of the Two Rivers and Wolfbrother, as he forges the hammer Mah’alleinir, the first new power-wrought weapon in hundreds of years. In doing so he not only reintroduces a technique that had been lost since the Trolloc Wars, he also fulfills the Prophecy of the Wolf King. thats from the TOR website...What prophecy is that? Can someone help me here? I spelly prophecy wrong in the title so people reed this...haha.

So right before we seen Rand on Dragonmount, he grabs on to the power in Ebu Dar and gets violently sick. This is the last time that we see Rand grab on to Sadin. Now i have been wondering ever since i first read this part when it first came out, is Rand still holding on to the power. We havent seen a POV from him at all other than the brief glance in the prologue for the last book. i belive this is why he has become so powerfull over the course of the last book. He is still holding onto Sadin. We have him and Perrin sitting around and he 'tells Perrin that " he has the insanity in his grip" i think LTT 's voice was always more calmer and more coherent when Rand was h…

I must give some credit to sleepinghour for reminding me of this in his post in, oddly enough, the Brandon Sanderson debate thread. We all know how much RJ LOVED his foreshadowing. It is his use of foreshadowing, to where you reading a book is almost like solving a puzzle, that is one of WoT's greatest achievements. And I would go so far as to say that we know almost all of the key parts of the Tar'mon Gai'din in the foreshadowing just in the first three books. Some examples: Spring Pole in Emond's Field: Singing and dancing about the Spring Pole. They always did it, but no one knew why... First you have the proto-cover that seems to allude to this, and even…
