http://wotlas.sourceforge.net/ Not sure if anyone has heard of it or knows what's going on. I've never gotten to play it but from the screenshots it looks like it would be at least moderately entertaining. Especially if you're a crazy WoT fan like myself who will play/watch/listen to just about anything that has Wheel of Time on it. Assuming it's RJ's WoT and not some nonsense thing. Anyway, does anyone know anything about this? Is it up, is it working? I'm not a programmer and all of this stuff just sounds like babble to me. I need a babel fish. Or.. whatever it was that goes in your ear.

I have found so many positive reviews about the Belgariad on this site. To me, the books were a horrible experience. I like to appreciate an author's work but I found very little to be original in the Belgariad. I dont dismiss books on the basis of 'cliche' (as you may have noticed in my thread 'Insult to RJ'). However, in the Belgariad I found the various cliches were exactly that-cliches. Not adapted in any way and not modified to the authors style. I could predict the outcome of most scenes. Some scenes were just weird and unbelievable. Even worse were the places where the entire story shifts and favours the good guys. I was not intrigued at all and had no cu…

So I'm starting a game of the Wheel of Time D20 system. It will be held over AIM, and possibly skype if things get too confusing. I already have a couple of people who are interested so I need a few more players. If anyone is interested either post here or IM me. My SN is hydroc777. I have the books available for anyone who needs them.

We had a thread like this a couple of years ago. Post your location here and the rest add it to My Places (or Your Places) on Google Earth and we can go on DM trip around the world. Sounds boring? Well, then you're not bored enough... yet. I'll go first. I'm in Tromsø, Norway.

After that attack on September 11, 2001, do you remember how you felt? Do you remember how you wanted to hug your wife, husband, children? Did you make a phonecall home jsut to say, “I love you”? Did you feel, perhaps for the first time, that strangers on the street weren’t so strange anymore - we were all “Americans”? Did you donate blood or donate money to charity? Did you feel closer to your neighbors and tried to do something good for someone else? Did you smile and wave to people that you never had before? What’s changed? Do you still feel that way? In honor of those who died on September 11, 2001 and those who fought back against their attackers on …

So, what are everyone's favorites? (I'm always looking for a new time waster) Mine: Sluggy Freelance (www.sluggy.com): Brilliant artwork (once you get past the first few years in the archives), can be both laugh out loud funny and poignant - sometimes at the same time - well developed characters, great storylines (some damn near novella size, when all's said and done), a nice sci-fi touch. The best. Some samples: http://pics.sluggy.com/images/comics/021002a.gif[/img] Sinfest (www.sinfest.net): Minimalist artwork, funny, lots of good v. evil, great characters, some but not too many ongoing storylines. This week-end I got a chance to try something I can't normally do. Picking up a German chick. Let's start with what you have to do first. Spotting the German. Now I have no idea how to do this. I just started talking to some girl and she happened to be German. Score. I guess if she's wearing a t-shirt that says "I'm German" she might be German. Or she could be speaking very loudly in German. But she might just be a non-German who happens to know German. I guess you just have to ask. Ok, you've found one, now you have to get the conversation going, preferably in a language she can understand. I learned that there are some things you shouldn't do: 1. Even if …

I'm not even sure if this topic is allowed, but if you don't know "Legend of the Seeker" is the live-action mini-series for Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule. I'm not going to provide any links but google it and you can go on its official website and see a trailer. I wanted to know people's thoughts about this AND PLEASE don't make this a Goodkind vs. RJ thread! I just want to read people's reactions about this.

Was thinking about RJ, and just realized that both RJ's birth and the book he got his pen name from ("For Whom the Bell Tolls" by Ernest Hemingway) both happened in the 1940's. Guess it doesn't mean anything, except that both authors are two of my absolute favorites. Anyone know why he picked 'Robert Jordan', the main character from Hemingway's novel as his pen name?

So, the opening ceremony is just hours away, and people who have seen the rehersals say that we will see something incredible. So, for those who will watch some of the games, what will you follow? Me, I tend to use the Olympics as a chance to watch sports I never pay much attention to otherwise, like gymnastics, wrestling etc. But of course, also sports like football, tennis and athletics, sports I enjoy all year around.

You may or may not know that I put no forethought whatsoever in what I post pretty much anywhere. That lack of planning extends to this here Spymaster report, I just kind of write as the mood dictates. But one thing I did notice about last week's effort was it was horribly written. Now usually you can expect a ton of grammatic errors from me (misplaced punctuation, run-on sentences, mis-spelled words etc. etc. etc.), but last week was especially bad. For that, I apologize, and I will attempt to write more clearly in this report. One other thing I will do is stop mentioning Cads so often. Cads was actually the person to point out the fact that I do mention her …

Let's assume that the DO is defeated.... Rand is dead , the land is devastated , most of his troops dead , the White Tower is broken , Ashaman free . Even if Rand is alive , there is no need for the Dragon Reborn anymore (DO exists no more). So , as I see it ,everyone (and I mean everyone ) jumps to eachother's throat trying to seize as much as possible . The outcome? I vote from Seanchan . I guess their loses will be fewer (sinced the major battle will be at Randland ) , they have thousands of war trained channelers ,fleet , fight under centralized commmand and of course they have Mat ( it wont take long to persuade him that they will bring order to chaos and …
