Yuppers, it's Ground/Rock type.  Evolved form of Geodude.

You know, a few years ago, the Pokemon names started making me laugh.

Some of 'em are cool, but others are kind of obvious.

Geodude--"geo" earth.  So, "earth dude," which is pretty accurate because it's rock/ground type.

Charmander--char references its Fire type (a substance that has been burnt or scorched), and "mander" is from "salamander"

Charmeleon--char, and chameleon

Charizard--char, and lizard

Oh, my favorites were:

Ekans-- "Snake" backward

Arbok-- "Kobra" or cobra, backward (both are snakelike pokemon)

*shakes head*  I think ANYONE could name a Pokemon. :D

Lol :D

I know nothing about pokemon.  I know there's Pikachu and that's about it.

Alucard is Dracula backwards.  Dekker has to tie everything is so explicitly ::) :D
