Since when does anyone here know how to repair boats! I mean seriously, we'd be lost at sea for so long if  all we had was a boat...

Well you see Thorum is from Belgium where they're not very advanced cuz they don't have things like motor engines and rocket ships and nuclear war and unbridled cynicism and all those other hallmarks of a developed society so they need to know how to do more basic things like repair little fishing sloops.
