Listening to the my little poney theme - because of the kids... I will be kind and I won't post the vid to it

Every time we watch it (ok, I watch it.. my 3yo could care less about it), the first strains just make me want to listen to the old 80s theme song for nostalgia.

 

Currently, I'm listening to Johan de Meij's Symphony No. 1 (Lord of the Rings), movement 1: Gandalf.  Seriously love this entire piece of music.  Very emotional and composed in a sense where you can follow so much of the books in the music.  The movements Gandalf and Hobbits are my favourites.

What's great about that is I didn't find it by looking for Carol of the Bells covers. I found it looking for Ukrainian folk metal.

 

They did an epic Gods Tower cover. (Belorusian folk metal ldo)
