Translating phonetically is hard at 3 am. Did you know that?

My russian exam is in about 12 hours..... O.O

But anyway if I'm totally butchering the pronunciation.... Heh I'm bad at speaking russian :P

now where was I...

ok.... the first sound is like the s in measure.... we'll call it a j

Really quick, before I go to bed for real, the way I've seen that sound written for pronunciation is "zh." I mean, that's not strictly latinizing it or anything, but I think it's pretty much the accepted way to let people know to make that sound.

Like, Alys Kinch's daughter's name is Azhure.

For an example. XD

розовый - rozovay - pink

there is a color there..... It is actually all colors technically :P

серый - seray - gray

коричневый - korichnyevay - brown

 

i once again like in "machine"

бежевый - (with Meesh's insight) bezhevay - beige

оранжевый - oranzhyevay - orange

Next we'll learn some other adjectives

новый - novay - new

большой - bolshoy - big

старой - staroy - old (like stars are!!!! That's how I remember that one. Haven't been telling you my little tricks... oh well )

красивый - krasivoy - beautiful

интересный - interesnoy - interesting

the first letter in this one is like the ch in "Bach" (any ideas Meesh?)--I'll keep it as an x for now

 

хорошии - xoroshiy - good

 

and if you want to say you're doing well or something is doing well you use this one

 

хорошо - xorosho -well
