I don't understand why people spend money on weddings when they could use it to start a life. I guess they get presents but it doesn't seem to even out. but I hate weddings so I may be biased

I cried for the whole of my best friend's wedding ceremony. I can see what you mean but, to me, a wedding isn't about gifts, it's for two people to stand up and declare their love for each other. To me, it IS the start of your life together =)

to me it's a very uncomfortable social event. I don't do funerals or graduations either.
