And for any who care, in the first if you look hard enough you can notice a difference in the resolution. More pixels and tighter clarity in the rest of the pic except for right around the closed eye.

 

In the second, there's no evidence of strain in the open eye (a pic of an animal "winking" will either be from muscle strain, injury, or debris in the eye or something, and you will often see signs of strain in the other eye). You can also see this, or the lack of this, in the first one. However, if an animal received an injury or something which caused one eye to shut, and lived with it for a while, they won't show as much strain in their good eye. Harder to tell if there is a resolution difference.
