I noticed that some people say "asterick" instead of "asterisk" when pronouncing it. Why, people? Also, my dad purposely mispronounces certain names to "irritate" me, even though all I do is roll my eyes. "Redlinger" pronounced "RED-ling-er." He says: "RED-lin-jer." Wanted to give everyone a heads up that I will likely be scarce around here. Not sure for how long. I am at the hospital right now. My dad suffered a massive heart attack about 4 hours ago and things aren't looking very good at the moment. The cardiologist said there is a chance he may not make it through the night. His heart has stopped 3 times already and they have had to shock him back each time. His heart beat is still very erratic right now. Never felt so completely fucking helpless in all of damned life.

The wife and I are currently in Northern Ireland. I am slightly drunk at some hole in the wall pub in Bellfast, killing a day before we hit the ferry to Scotland and then fly back home on the 19th. Of people who my mother in law refuses to call because she's too nervous. :P Yep, she now refuses to call me up to ask me for anything, she always asks via my husband or makes her husband call me. Okay, so I'm all like "Oh no, can't find a hotel room for D*con, what am I gonna do?" And Kia's like, "Hey, there's some rooms open at some of the host hotels! Check it out!" So I go online, see the Sheraton has rooms open, call the Sheraton, and find there's one room open. The lady on the phone goes through all the steps, gets my info, yada yada, and we're done. Only, it won't process my reservation. BECAUSE, WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE, SOMEONE ELSE BOOKED THE SAME ROOM BEFORE ME! No more rooms open at the Sheraton. I screamed. I really did.
