We are currently changing internet service providers, as well as going from cable to DSL. So we have to wait for our modem thingies to come in the mail and such, and so there will be a few days where we won't have internet, and then a couple days where it will be spotty, since my husband will inevitably be messing with our server and such. I hope you never need to use this plan, but it's sometimes wise to be prepared. If anything unforeseen should occur, I'll have my son post the details in The Gwampy Thread in Fiddlesticks. So, if you're concerned about me for some reason, check there. Who remembers Asha'man Empires? (The version on that site is very old. Ignore it.) It was an online strategy game I was writing years and years ago, when I was new to the whole web programming thing. It's some of the first PHP I ever wrote. Yesterday, I looked at what source I had so far. It was horrible. (Database lingo to follow. If you don't care about databases, you may want to stop reading.) To give some of you an idea, at one point I had to pull several fields from a table, all on the same row. This is a standard procedure, usually solved by telling the server, "I want fields A, B, and C from this table of data, but only give me the ones …

Winter Semester starts January 13th, and I have to take a Drawing Class and an Art History class. The Art History is meh, but I'm really not looking forward to the Drawing class. I have to take it for my Graphic Design major however, and it's going to be a pain because for all intents and purposes...I can't really draw at all. Not in the traditional sense, anyway. So what classes do people have coming up? I know some of you go to school year-round (which to me is just freakishly weird), but what are you taking? Are you excited about it, or are you in my boat, just wanting to get it over with as quickly as possible?

Yes, how many of you have your Christmas decorations up already. This year is the first year ever, that I have them up before December starts. I know only one but even so! I usually put them up during the first weekend in DEc. But as next weekend I have a few things on, I can't. So I was persuaded by little terror to do it today! I forgot how long and tiring it is! So has anyone else put them up, if not when are you going to, and when do you start listening to Christmas songs. She will definately have to wait until tomorrow for that... :D

Tonight is Children in Need night here in the UK. It is held every year and it is run by the BBC to raise money for Children in Need all over the country. Each year they raise millions for this cause. Giving to children charities is one on the toip of my lists that and animal charities. What charities do you like to give to?

So the holiday season is pretty much upon us, and no matter what religion you choose to embrace (or lack thereof), people typically find this time of year to celebrate something. There are large public events, and small family ideals that are practiced. It isn't even always religious--people celebrate the coming of the New Year, or certain cultural or national events. So the first question I'll pose is: Do you participate in any holidays during this season? If so, are they religious? National? Cultural? If you choose to not celebrate anything at all--how does the holiday season impact you?
