Straight from the book. We have been banging our heads to try to figure out who Demandred, could this be him. Since Aginor was originally at the Black Tower, and if he was brought back yet again after being fried by Elza, why wouldn't he go back to where he was before - the black tower. It has been long enough that it is a possibility. However, I think this is nothing more than a Red-Herring to distract us and give us another false trail.

There have been various debates of the merits of the Forsaken, with a general feeling of disappointment but also some oft-overlooked events that were undoubtedly bad for the Light and engineered by the Chosen. This poll is just to pin down which single action has done the most damage to the side of the Light? I'm excluding: - things that happened before the series e.g. setting up the Black Ajah, corrupting the Seanchan prophecies - things whose outcome isn't known yet e.g. whatever Demandred is doing, or the attack on Caemlyn - Ishamael's general 'turn Rand dark' strategy, as that runs through most of the series rather than being one action - Gazillions of Trolloc…

It's an insignificant question I know, but Mat is always mat, or Lord Mat, or Mat Cauthon, I don't think anyone ever called him mattrim. How did Tuon know his full name was Mattrim?

What this thread is - To discuss items in the world, magic system, characters, etc. that RJ did not completely flesh out when he started writing the books and, therefore, make things in the early books seem strange after we learn more later. What this thread is not - A place to accuse RJ of lying and/or changing his mind just because your pet theory died a painful death (yes, I am looking at you Taimendred people ). This is a topic for things that people should do with the power, but just haven't bothered to think of. #1: Fly. Make any type of flyable structure out of Air (very strong, very light), then use the power to propel it (how is up to you, although I would create a jet engine and just spin it). Difficulties? Only one person in Randland has really made a study of Aerodynamics, and she's a lady in the Library of Cairhein. What would it require? Someone strong in Air, with either an Angreal or a circle. #2: Bodyarmour. The power has been shown to be able to stop just about anything. Perrin Has been using the Red Eagle Banner but he is not the Red Eagle, Mat is Aemon reborn... The Band of the Red Hand were the Guard of Aemon. So shouldn't the banner go to Mat?

It seems to me that Aviendha's Towers of Midnight ter'angreal experience gives us a setting for a continuation of the Wheel of Time Series. In an attempt to keep a marvelous story alive, Aviendha's viewing gives Sanderson a chance to continue the story, which revolves mainly around the Children of the Dragon. I, at the very least hope this to be true.

I have been thinking about several things concerning Fain, and the SL dagger. Or maybe, Moiraine and SL dagger. First let me set the scene's for my question. Lets look back at tEotW first This indicates that Moiraine could feel the dagger while Mat held it. I had always interpreted this as something of her being AS, able to touch the OP. But was it a Talent of her's instead. Or could it have something to do with who is holding the dagger and not who is seeing it. Does anybody have a theory on why Rand was getting nauseous when channeling prior to his transformation at the end of tGS and why he doesn't anymore?

I couldn't help but notice similarities between Obama's State of the Union speech and Egwene's speech to the Aes Sedai after the Seanchan attack on the White Tower. Obama, speaking to the Dems and Reps who were mingling together after one of their own was shot, spoke to them as one and encouraged them to move beyond their differences to unite against the challenges we face as a country. Egwene, like Obama, spoke of their wounded pride but the world still needing the AS at the Last Battle. I could go on and on about the similarities but I couldn't help but to think to myself the other night, "the last battle is coming!"

Other characters are seen relying on people they knew of old, that they know they can trust. Perrin, in particular. And now it seems that the Two Rivers men at the Black Tower will turn out to be key players for the Light in that particular little squabble. Much has been made of how Egwene doesn't have many people she can trust in the White Tower. But doesn't she have a full contingent of novices from the Two Rivers? Including at least some who are personally known to her? I can see her keeping them at arms length while Elaida was in power, for their own protection. Okay, so, the taint on Saidin, which drove LTT to the madness he's experiencing in the Prologue to EotW, happened after he and the hundred homeboys sealed the Forsaken and the DO in the prison, right? something that has never made much sense to me. why the seanchen were allowed to keep invading after the asha'man were well established. i know that gateways have limitations. you have to know the ground, but for short jumps you can weave them instantly. this allows scouting fairly easily. so find the raken/to'raken "airport" kill the grounded animals. just like bombing planes on an airfield. they would run out of raken pretty quickly. no more air force. no long range scouts. slowed advance. can be done with 20 asha'men or less. rinse repeat for the ships in the harbors. no more reinforcements from the empire. rinse repeat for the damane "dorms" far less dam…

I've been thinking about this for a while, and I'm still uncertain as to why the Shadow was focused on turning Rand to the point of passing up chances to kill him. There's a lot of indication that losing the Dragon Reborn means losing the Last Battle, so why did Ishamael spend so long ranting at an untrained sheepherder when it appears he could have triumphed back in TEOTW had he attacked him instead? Was he arrogant to the point of complete idiocy? Perhaps, but that would make for IMO a much weaker story than the WoT could have been. This is probably gonna sound really stupid to you guys but this has been bugging me since I finished the great hunt. ***great hunt spoilers*** At the end of the great hunt Rand does battle with Ba'alzamon in the sky. If the Dark one is locked in his prison in Shayol Ghul how can he be doing battle with Rand? I've probably missed something important here and i wanted this clearing up before I start the Dragon reborn. thanks.

Okay, so in the latest instance of Rand's meetings with Moridin, Rand lets Moridin know of his plan to kill the Dark One. Moridin basically tells him that he truly does know nothing. What does this mean? I can think up 5-10 theories to this, all credible, without even stretching my imagination too far. Give me yours!

Fain, has been off the radar for a while, I was thinking about what LTT said, something about a buffer, they had to touch the DO with Saidan to seal the Bore. I wonder if Fain could be used as a buffer???

The Forsaken. Love 'em, hate 'em, or just wonder where they are, their story is near an end now after entertaining us with their antics and, in most cases, deaths, for thirteen books. They've had moments of genius, but a fair few moments of idiocy as well. But which one really deserves the dunce's cap?

Lan has embraced his role as king and now he is leading a suicidal charge against the shadow... How do you think it's going to go down??? Will Rand show up and save his friend?? Or will Nyneave burst onto the scene in a righteous love-filled fury to save Lan??

I really don't mean to pick on this series because I really have enjoyed the bulk of it - but one of the things that has annoyed me from the start is this need to move characters and/or groups of characters over long distances very quickly in a preindustrial society. First you had The Ways, which imho were the most original of Jordan's move-em quick ideas. The ways were risky, they were limited, and they weren't just an easy solution. Then you had Rand using the power along with a large Te'angreal to transport himself and his group to the waste. I am almost certain this has been posted elsewhere.Apologies everyone if I am repeating. The waygate that is being used for the invasion of Caemlyn is (I think) the same one used by Rand and co in tEotW. If the good guys knew that there was a waygate, why ddnt they close it. It makes no sense that Rand ran around dealling with waygates but left the one in Caemlyn wide open.

At the end of ToM, Rand is about to finally go and meet with the monarchs of the world, as he put it to the borderlanders. Here he is going to offer them a price for him fighting at Shayol Gul. And this price is clearly (to me, anyways), going to be the Peace of the Dragon, seen broken by Aviendha's future visions of the Aiel. We know this peace is not going to include the Seanchan anyways, but this is going to be very important in Memory of Light. What will Aviendha do with this knowledge? It was incredibly sad to see that the world, as seen by Aviendha, will end up blanketed in events almost as bad as the shadow itself in such a short time after the Last Battle, es…

Hey forum. I just wanted to express my opinion about the whole movie discussion. Impossible. There's no way WOT fans are going to let hollywood massacre this epic series by making it a film, and here's why. First, there's just too many books. If they started with Eye of the World now, by the time say Winter's Heart came around, the actors would have all aged dramatically and have to be changed to younger ones, and that would just confuse the Light out of all of us. Aran'gar even states that once upon a time dereliction of duty on that scale would have seen Mesaana dead, so that gives us a clear indication of how badly she put her foot wrong. When Rand balefires Natrin's Barrow, we get a series of three ripples expanding around the ex-Barrow. We have already seen these ripples at other times and I'm wondering if there has been much speculation if they are all connected to the one event. Just finished rereading tWoTW and I noticed a few things that I haven't noticed before. In the prologue: Let the arm of the Lord of the Dawn shelter us from the Dark, and the great sword of justice defend us. Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time. I guess this a reference to Hawkwing's sword Justice that Rand now carries? when Rand fights Ba'alzamon: His sword was in his hand.
