Man crap delete one of these please. How did that happen! Seven males + six females = Circles of thirteen assault on the Black Tower. "It shall be rent in fire and blood. And sisters shall walk its ground".

I was thinking that the Red veiled Aiel are the Male channelers that run into the blight when they discover they can Channel, and they were changed to the shadow by 13 Fades. Thoughts....

OK, I know that RJ defines Rahvin and Semirhage as dark people along with the Sea Folk but are they black like Afro-Americans or just dusty white men? In fact is there a country where Blacks are more common? And are there Asians like people resembling Chinese and Japanese?

To live you must die. 3 becomes one. logain stepping over rand's body. alivia helping rand to die. It seems rand will 'die' in a process that seals the bore for good pre war of the power. Once the sealing is done, rand will retire in an annoymous fashion where logain takes over as the leader of male channellers. We can't have the dragon reborn walking amongst men once everything is done and dusted. The whole world will mourn the death of the dragon reborn whereas rand will live his last few years in peace having done his job. i won't be suprised if he's no longer able to channel after the process of sealing. oh and moridin will meet his final end at shayol …

pages 43-45 show fain attacking a group of trollocs and a myrddraal with hist mist and raising the trollocs as undead. Is he creating an army out of these? What does he plan to do with it? I think he'll attack the gathered armies with them. Every trolloc that dies in the last battle, and possibly every human too, can be raised by fain. Scary thought! O_o Also, he said his mist attacked like the tentacles of a leviathan in the Aryth Ocean. Do you think one actually exists or was it just put in there by Brandon?

Robert Jordan has a degree in physics, as is well known, but I wanted to point out I found it very interesting how much of that he does incorporate into Wheel of Time. It basically starts out in TGH when the travelling stones are basically implied to be a portal to the multiverse, and there are so many more interesting tidbits in the books from there on. I don't remember which book it is in, I think KoD, but two white sisters are discussing mathematics, and using other terms, but they are clearly discussing dimensional physics and arguing about the rationality of the math, just like real life physicists have been with the superstring theory and other theories for dec…

Well, I'm a little behind everyone else, as I was reading some other books, but I went back and reread all 11 books so I could finally start "The Gathering Storm". I've only read the first 100 pages, and already I'm feeling huge waves of commiseration, and regret over the loss of Robert Jordan. There is nothing to be done for that though. I will say I am glad of Brandon Sanderson being willing to take on the monumental task of finally finishing this series up, and he himself in the foreword seemed to be asking for a little patience. I give as much patience as I can, and I realize how hard of a job it was for Brandon, but you all who have read books 12 and 13, did you …

For me, anytime stedding have been mentioned throughout the series, it has always seemed to me as though it's like in the eye of a storm where everything is calm and is indestructible. So how exactly are stedding destroyed or are they merely inaccessible due to the Ogier forgetting the locations? And if so, can a stedding be destroyed? Discuss.

Not sure if there are discussions going on about this. If so a thousand apologies. Here's the passage: pg. 758 (Paperback) Against The Shadow "The Light blind you, Ba'alzamon! This has to end!" IT IS NOT HERE. It was not Rand's thought, making his skull vibrate. I WILL TAKE NO PART. ONLY THE CHOSEN ONE CAN DO WHAT MUST BE DONE, IF HE WILL. "Where?" He did not want to say it, but he could not stop himself. "Where?" The haze surrounding him parted, leaving a dome of clear, clean air ten spans high, walled by billowing smoke and dust. Steps rose before him, each standing alone and unsupported, stretching up into the murk that obscured the sun. N…

Didn't see an thread on this here. http://www.tor.com/blogs/2011/01/your-questions-for-brandon-sanderson-answered Lot of RAFOs. I'm intrigued by this one. Not sure how that discrepancy could possibly be explained. I was intrigued by this statement. Also, some timeline goodness. There are many other interesting questions here, and that's just some of the first few that struck me as interesting. Go to town folks.

Hi all In the Prologue to TOM, we see Padan Fain in the Blight killing this, that and the other. At the end of his segment he says it's time to kill Rand. He comments that you "didn't hunt something when you knew exactly where it was going to be. You merely showed up to meet it". Now this got me thinking about the Moridin and Rand connection. I always thought the Min viewing about Rand and the 2 people or was it 3, always referred to Rand and Moridin, not Rand and Lewis Therin. So with this in mind we know that Moridin and Rand have this link and that Moridin is housed somewhere in the Blight. So could it be possible that Padan Fain is heading towards where h…

So, I picked up the paperback for TGS recently so it is easier to read in various places... but I noticed the oddness of the page formatting. The chapter icons are a lot smaller than in previous paperbacks. The WoT symbol that marks the end of each chapter is also missing. The chapter names and book title are gone from each page, and the page numbers are now centered at the bottom of each page. Spacing is wider and margins are bigger too. I guess it isn't a big deal... but it feels weird. The traditional WoT formatting is maintained in the hardbacks, even in ToM. What gives?

So I just finished another read-through of ToM and the same thought keeps nagging at me each time. That is, I don't think we've seen the last of the 'finns. Mat is obsessed with how the 'finns created ties to him, and is certain that they let him go previously because they knew he'd be back and they could finish it then (his story to Thom about the cow and the slaughterhouse). Well, there were three people that went through the doorway in Tear back in tSR: - Moiraine, who was trapped in the 'finns realm for the past 30 books (exaggeration) - Mat, who went back to confront them and almost became snake-fox food. - Rand...who has not had any further dealings wi…

So, Ishy used Compulsion on Jain Farstrider (Noal) in the Blight... to what end? I never understood this. He gave warning to some Ogier about the Eye of the World, didn't he? Why in the name of the Light would Ishy make Jain tell the good guys about his dastardly plans? Can someone please clarify what Ishy compulsed Noal to do? Thanks!

I'm only a third of the way (give or take) through TOM. Mat seemed shocked that the Gholam knew about Tuon. So... I think that might have been a clue. Perhaps Demandred is the Forsaken that is behind the Gholam's missions, since I do not beleive that person (whoever is instructing the Gholam) has been revealed yet. If it is Demi, then I would assume he is in some position of power among the Seanchan. Maybe him and Semi were working together, before Rand Truefired her (get it? True power + Balefire = Truefire). Maybe the Seanchan are Demi's secret force, and Tuon just doesn't know. Perhaps he's going to take over the reins and leave her powerless.

She stood before an immense wall, clawing at it, trying to tear it down with her bare hands. It was not made of brick or stone, but countless thousands of discs, each half white and half black, the ancient symbol of the Aes Sedai, like the seven seals that had once held the Dark One’s prison shut. Some of those seals were broken now, though not even the One Power could break cuendillar, and the rest had weakened somehow, but the wall stood strong however she beat at it. She could not tear it down. Maybe it was the symbol that was important. Maybe it was the Aes Sedai she was trying to tear down, the White Tower. - A Crown Of Swords, Unseen Eyes She stood before an…

Wading through waist-deep snow with trees thick all around her, knowing she had to reach the edge of the forest. But even when she glimpsed the end of the trees ahead, one blink and it receded into the distance, leaving her to flounder on. Or she was pushing a great millstone up a steep hill, but every time she was almost to the top, she slipped and fell and watched the huge stone rill back to the bottom, so she had to trudge back down and begin again, only every time the hill was higher than before. She knew enough of dreams to know where these came from even if they had no special meaning. None beyond the fact that she was tired and had a seemingly endless task in …

I know there is supposedly an Eye of the World movie being made, (Though I doubt it since it is supposed to be released this year and has not even got a script or cast yet.) I would rather see a tv series....instead of fitting an entire book worth of information in a 3 or 4 hour movie, they could have a number of hour long episodes for each book. Each book could get it's own season, two seasons a year.

How many thousands of mercenaries are there? Is the entire Band of the Red Hand there or only half? How many dragons have been made? Is there any way to know these things? If the answer to all three things swing in Andor's favor, Caemlyn may not be as screwed as we think. Also I don't think Taim is actually Taim, I think the real Taim was kidnapped and Demandred replaced him, I think Davram Bashere himself didn't recognize him when he saw him.

I believe in an interview BS said there was a "head slapping" revelation he had when reading notes for the last 3 books. I have finished ToM and I had no such moment. Did I completely miss some huge obvious revelation (can't remember if this is related to the BUT or not, if so I missed that too). Any help would be appreciated. Or just point me to the right thread. Second question, why is this book called Towers of Midnight. Besides the glossary they really aren't mentioned in the book. Unless I blacked out for a chapter or two. I know the titles do not always directly relate to the action but I thought this one would.

I have always been interested in learning more about Shara. I guess it´s because so little is written about the land and that I always wants to know behind-the-scene-facts. As I understand it many people have had the opportunity to ask Jordan and Sanderson questions. Have they reveald anything more about Shara than we already know? Do you think Shara will be more visible in the final book? Is it the place for Demandreds army?

Hey, I'm brand new around these parts so... hi, I guess! I've been reading WoT for 8 or 10 years I guess, but never spent much time looking at message boards until now. Anyway, back on track. We've all got bones to pick with WoT but what I was wondering about was: what would you change? Whether it's plotlines, characters, relationships... the idea is not just to criticize what we don't like but say what we would have done instead if we had been in RJ's wonderful writer shoes (not that any of us could compete, I know! :D). I'm pretty sure a thread like this must exist somewhere but search is not working for me right now, so... :) What I'd change would have a lot to…

I don't think they do, but maybe I missed something? I remember Rand trying to figure out if he and Elayne were blood related at one point (in TDR or TSR?), but don't remember anything about whether he realized he is related to Galad. I doubt Galad has any clue, but I'm not sure about that either.

Could it be that the stedding are pockets of magnetism? This might explain why the stedding were lost during the breaking, when the earth was shifting. Also, perhaps the inability to channel inside them is a result of the magnetic effects on the body/brain? Also it might explain the longing (magnetic attraction?) The guardians in Far Madding might also be magnetic, though not as strong. What do you think?
