Obviously their philosophy sucks. And I hate how they accuse nearly everyone as being a dark friend but, you would think that because they are strictly just an army, that they would kick ass. But so far, we have seen none, only them getting their ass kicked or running away. I hope they actually manage to do something good by the end of the series. Your thoughts?

Don't read the glossary before you read the book. There is apparently large spoiler within it.

I'm wondering this mostly because of Silviana who is keeper and was Mistress of Novices and also Leanne. I believe 3 keepers and 2 Mistress of Novice's have been Black; Duhara under Sierin, Alviarin under Elaida and then Sheriam. So I'm wondering if Leanne could be BA? Also there is Gitara, I realize she foretold Rands coming but that doesn't necessarily preclude her? As for Mistress's, we have Merean, who almost killed Moraine and Sheriam, I also wonder about Tiana. Thoughts?

I'm into my reread of TGS. I'm sure this has been discussed, but I believe General Galgan is Demandred. It seems that he was closely allied with Semirhage. He controls a massive army. And the Seanchan is causing all kinds of chaos. He doesn't need to murder Fortuona because she is doing what he wants. Just a hunch.

Since CoT I have believed that Silviana is Mesaana. Now that she has had a lot more screen time, I'm trying to determine if she absolutely is ruled out or not. My reasons for this theory include: The Mistress of Novices is a fairly powerful position, it does not have the appearance of power. Mesaana was noted in the Companion to be interested in true power, not the appearance of power. Mesaana corrupted young people and taught them to worship the Dark One -- as MoN she would have had a perfect opportunity to influence young impressionable minds to her cause. Mesaana indicated she could cause pain when it was necessary but she did not take pleasure in it. …

A couple months ago I put up a survey on what people thought might happen in ToM. I kept the results offline because I needed it for Dragon*Con, but I did promise to post them closer to the release. So here they are! https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1QaT_EJdIDmPzYJSB9ihehQIZ1Sy0xiYlKwqCREdCVec Apologies for the wonky formatting.

Hey guys, Luckers here. With the assistance of the amazing Peter Ahlstrom, I was able to conduct an interview with Brandon Sanderson. Thanks go also to Maria, who put me in touch with them. Enjoy! James - When you first started work on the Wheel of Time what was the first thing you looked up in the notes/material? Brandon - Asmodean’s killer. After that, I read the ending. James - Did the notes squash/support any of your theories/ideas of where the books were going? Are you able to tell us what or how? Brandon - Yes. It did both. Some things were supported, some things were squashed, and some things I just didn’t have any personal theories on. …

There are some interesting reveals from Larry at rafo.com, and both Larry and Pat at Westeros. I posted a summary (with links) at Theoryland. There are some review-type spoilers...and one huge teaser that we weren't sure about until now.(Since Luckers made this the OP, I've copied over everything.) From the OF blog: And from rafo.com: It's further apart than in TGS' date=' but some of that is due to a LOT being crammed in. There are some really surprising reveals so far. Things for the immediate story...and possible future events. Just think about belief and order a bit...Their initial scene is very short, third chapter. The hint...should lea…

Whilst I don't buy into Terez' scenario for how the Battle of Caemlyn will play out with Gawyn killing Rand, I do think it is now quite likely that there will be a convergence there given Perrin and Galad both referenced it, and Brandon has said all the main characters get together. This thread is for the discussion of that battle/meeting.

So who is the third guy on the ToM cover? Mat is in the middle. One of the other two is Thom (I think Thom is the one drawing the triangle on the tower wall.) And then we have the mystery man - guy #3. Guy #3 has grey or greying hair, a blue coat, and is carrying a wooden staff with some kind of a hook on top. I'm clueless about who guy #3 is. Any ideas?

one of the few things I have come across, though definitely not explicitly indicated in the story, is that the only forsaken to truely understand the mind of the dark one is Ishamel. While the rest of the forsakens battle for power in terms of the idea that when the dark one is freed, they will divide and conquer the lands and govern them--all under the dark one. However, it is my assumption that Ishamel conveys a certain thought long betrayed by the dark one to his Nabelis: that he is the antithesis of the creator, which implies that he wants to undo everything the creator did, whether as a final insolent attack against the creator or simply a dangerous grudge, the very …

So, Rand has all the memories of the previous Dragon lives now. Back at the beginning of the series, Ishamael remembered all his previous lives and all the various fights he's had with Rand, but at the beginning of PoD when he was playing chess (with himself because he's a big meanie who doesn't have any friends), he was bitching about how he doesn't have these memories anymore. He remembers being Ishamael and, based on his reaction to no longer having these memories, he remembers that he used to have them. Moridin has the link to Rand and all those memories of their previous battles are a significant advantage for him to have. It's kind of ... less heroic ... to h…

The Spoiler Board has been locked so that only Admins and Moderators can make new posts. I know this is a pain, but the reason is to stop spoilers in thread titles and repeated posts, both of which were a major problem last year on the non-spoiler board (the threads on Rand's sword nearly drove me insane). That fact is, simply, that our traffic gets so high around the release this is needed to grant the board any form of readability. So to request new threads, simply post your request in this thread. A few rules and pointers. 1. Please be clear on where you want the spoilers to be cut off at. 2. Please be considerate in phrasing your request even within th…

I was just wondering how many times everyone has read the books. I know some people have done multiple re reads and some probably haven't. And I'm curious cause I'm probably not the only one who has been going through the series again in preparation for the next one. I'm currently reading tGS again for the second time, I'm so near the end I'll probably finish it tonight and that will take me to completely re reading the series twice. But I've also started a third read through which has included tGH, tDR and tSR. tEOTW isn't included there cause I lent it to someone at the time but I'll be starting that again probably tomorrow. Oh and there was a fourth read of tDR c…

I couldn't find a topic about this and since I have grown addicted to audio books ever since I started travelling a lot, I was wondering if there is a release date for the audio version of ToM? I remember that with TGS the audio book was out shortly after the paperback and I am hoping for the same scenario now. Also where can one order it?

First and foremost i just want to say thank you to everyone on this site. This is THE best website that i have come across supporting TWOT series. Every one here has not only shown remarkable insights into the series but has made me feel welcomed into this great community. So thank you everyone here!!! Now with that said, i would like to get everyone thoughts on something. In Knife of Dreams, twice the world "shimmers." It flux's in a set of three. Faile and Perrin both experience it as well as the Seanchan. Any idea on what this is that caused this? I just finished it and i don't remember it saying, or if anyone outside of those people experience it. If they do, no o…

Who is this woman? I know that she used to be Aes Sedai. I know that she also has more than likely been stilled too. But besides the chaperone between Tuon and Mat, who is she? I looked through a list of all the Amrylin's and didn't see her name in there. However its not to hard to change a name, is it? She knows way more than she should for a simple Innkeeper. Thoughts?

So, we know of only two ages for sure. The Age of Legends and the current age, The Third Age. So what about the other 5? The only thing I can began to imagine about them is that there will be "other powers" not necessarily sources like the One and True Powers but, other powers for sure. (Ill explain) Im not certain if people will be able to channel the One Power either in future ages... Im not saying it wont exsist, im saying that maybe there will be an age were no one is born with the ability to channel. But its also possible that there will be no such age. Now, about the "other powers", the interview below will explain what I mean. After it, I will elaborate on it.…
