So i was wonder what everyone pictured when they read of one of the characters smoking a pipe. perhaps a long stemmed pipe(churchwarden) kinda like from LoTR or maybe a traditional English pipe. anyways post your opinion. Also, what kind of pipe did Robert Jordan smoke out of? we hear a lot of his other hobby(sword collecting) but not of this one. If anyone knows would you post it here pls?

Hello, something has been bothering a friend of mine lately. It's a character at the end of ACoS, who helped Rand kill Sammael in Shadar Logoth. I speculated that this might be Moridin, since he seems to want Rand to survive until Tarmon Gaidon, but I'm not certain. Do you have any idea who it might be?

Is there a link to the full US cover art? The Sweet one. I've seen the front, but I'm curious as to what the back looks like. Thanks.

I used to play there a lot back in the day (like 8 years ago lol). It was a lot of fun until it finally went down. I was just curious if any others on here played there.

I think she was probably thinking about him the way some of the maidens do...some think he's a brother, some think he's a son. She can't actually be his sister. When she puts the cadinsor back on after Rand has been kidnapped, she says "the Aes Sedai have taken my first-brother" and the glossary says that a first-sister/first brother has the same mother and that that is more important than having the same dad. At first, I thought well maybe Sulin's dad was also Rand's dad. Now I don't know for sure. Not important. Just perplexing. Every time I re-read, I stumble onto new stuff to perplex me. ::)

I was wondering if Robert Jordan ever specified in any of his blogs or discussions what type of tobacco he represented with Two River Tabac or if it was completely fictitious? Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated. ;D

So Ive figured out the BIGGER bigger picture! The Creator rides a one-Wheeled cart, pulled along by Bela and Pips. Bela of course represents the Light, Pips represents the Dark, the perfect balance. Yet even as they travel, they ignore the shadow they cast, the sentient darkness that envelopes the Pattern left behind in their trail. Rate my boredom level on a scale of 1 to Old Terry Old Pal.

What happened when Sammeal sent that guy to make a truce with Rand? If I remember, Rand refused the truce, but Sammeal thought that he agreed. What happened?

I noticed that there was a structured discussion on the EoTW but that was two years ago. Is anyone up for a re-read and discussion? I just started reading it again and was hoping others are doing the same. Does anyone know if there is a re-read going on or would you like to start one?

I have read the series 3 times, but i always fish on this one. Didn't Ishmael alter Seanchan prophecey? Specifically the part where The Dragon was to kneel before the Crystal throne, instead of bind it to him. I think it was mentioned early on in one of his Ba'alzamon rants.

How did the inhabitants of Randland find out about the wheel of time. -Like the intro says, by the time it repeats itself no one remembers that it's a repeat. -The Creator seems to be pretty hands off, so it's not likely that he would let the people in on the structure of their reality. -The only active actors who realized the wheels mechanics are the DO and Ishy, which no one in the light would take seriously.

Am I the only one who thinks that Halima has done nothing useful for the DO? I thought her assignment was to screw up as much stuff as possible, however, working through Delana has yielded barely anything. She has no real control over anything and if anything her actions brought the rebels closer together. I would understand if she killed someone like Suian, which would cripple Egwene and create further discord or something along those lines.

"Tia mi aven Moridin isainde vadin." = "The grave is no bar to my call." Moridin. Could there be a mis-translation over the years of what's on the Horn? Anyone any good with Old Tongue?

From Winters Heart. Is it talking about Moridin or what? Its been annoying me for ages! Does anyone have any idea what the deal is? To me it looks like a metaphor for the Dark One using Moridin as a vessel of somesort, but theres been no major clues towards that. Thoughts please!

Ok, so I'm working indoors sanding and painting the upper floor of our new house and as i do this I listen to Crossroads of Twilight. Now I want to discuss Logain and what Forsaken he must be. In CoT he reacts and acts very Forsaken-like when becoming furious when an Asha'man proposes he should join them in the Palace and get some of Mazrim Taim's private tutoring. It all smells of Forsaken.. I haven't done any searches hereo on the DM forum - I simply had to run downstairs and went this. Your thoughts on this:

Have you ever had a thought about something in this series just POP into your head out of nowhere for the very first time out of nowhere? Or even just pop into your head spontaneously? - Even years and years later? I just did. And I have been there since DAY ONE!!! Ill never forget the honor of meeting Mister Rigney when EOTW was in Hardback. (I wonder, how many fans do YOU think were wonderinf if Taim was the LOC way back when EOTW was in Hardback lol???) I now believe that The LOC that is being referred to by the bad guy at the end of book 6 to Demandred IS: Mazrim Taim!!! I Will Now Make My Case For Mazrim Taim Being The Lord Of Chaos. Pl…

Does anyone else feel like they have to hide the cover when they are reading Lord of Chaos? It looks just like a Harlequin Romance novel with Rands low cut shirt flowing in the wind, revealing a manly chest. My wife makes fun of me mercilessly. Does anyone else feel my pain?

Ok, we know most sniffly, composed aes sedai and stone-hard warders are intentionally similarly constructed on person, just as intentionally Mr Jordan made almost all nobles snooty, snobby etc...But I mean individual characters that have other characters that they are JUST Like!!! - Heres Mine: 1 Thom and Noal 2 Beslan and Aram 3 Pedron Niall and Eamon Valda 4 Ingtar and Uno 5 Berelain, Halima, Graendal, Lamfear Fish

Not sure where to post this, so please feel free to move if not appropriate. I love this board. I thought I was a WOT fanatic in my own personal way, but this board has opened up avenues of thought I never dreamed of. Really. Great. Stuff. Makes you think about everything and I have never truly tried to figure out where RJ was going, I just enjoyed it for what it was. But after reading the books so many times, this now feels natural to me and I can't keep my eyes away from dragonmount. Additionally, I find it incredible that RJ has written so much and when you think about it, there is little to complain about in terms of detail conflicts.

Seriously. One thing that's been bugging me as I reread them is that none of the characters truly think through the whole 'balefire' thing. Rand could have gotten his hand back no prob by blasting Semirhage (why exactly hasn't he killed her again?) and after toasting Rahvin, you would think Rand would know Morgase was alive and have people looking for her. He thought Rahvin killed her the day before he arrived in Caemlyn. After seeing Avi, Asmo, and Mat alive and well, he should have thought of Morgase. Although I'm not sure Nynaeve and Elayne understand Balefire, they could have attached Birgitte to the Pattern again by hitting Moghedien with it... Osan'gar…

Ok, because I thought this should be reviewed again. Here we go. Ok, Daughter of the Night is obviously Lanfear. The second line most likely describes that she is still fighting. The third line is where it gets interesting. The words "who shall serve her and die, yet serve still" seem to speak of Rand, but we know Rand is not her lover. So that brings up the question of who is. The fourth line indicates strength. The fifth line is interesting. What does Lanfear/Cyndane have to do with the White Tower? I think there is a deeper meaning hidden in this. We see so many oaths taken on blood. We see blood being part of the mindtrap. What bl…
