Okay, we did this for TofM and it was fun, so here's the deal. This thread is not for discussion, its just for stating your predictions so they are on record to be applauded or lamented when aMoL comes out (all in good fun). Feel free to say if you agree with someones thought, or if you see something you've never seen before, but by and large if you want to discuss someones idea create a new thread for it. Here are mine! Looking forward to yours! May we all giggle ourselves silly at our silliness when the book comes out (note, its often fun not to be conservative. If you hope it will happen or want it to happen go for it. We're all nerds here). 1. The Seanchan wom…

So for the longest time in my minds eye i always picture to look like Lamika from Vampire Hunter D I know, she is described differently in the books. but there you go its what i think. also Eddie Redmayne (from Pillars of the Earth) can match Rand Al'Thor.

In the end, I've decided that because 'it's 5 o'clock somewhere', I'll go ahead and post my review, reactions and an interview for A Memory of Light. Non-spoiler review I also have a post of spoiler reactions and a short interview with Brandon Sanderson that contains a number of spoilers - the links are not included to honor the intent of this forum.

~I will do my best not to turn this into a novel~ I was the “First Among Equals” at the Dayton signing. I was the second Memory Keeper to arrive at the store. We were shown to the back room where we could stash our stuff, and then the first problem arose. While all of the prizes had arrived, the box of the Memory Keeper t-shirts never had, though the latest communications had said they would be shipped with the prizes. As the other Memory Keepers arrived, it was decided that to distinguish ourselves from the other Wheel of Time fans, we would wear “badges” taped to our shirts or necklaces (which were all later signed by Harriet). While this problem was solved…

As Memory of Light is ordered and hopefully on its way to me right this moment I'm wondering if there is a good compiled recap of where everyone and all all factions are standing. Sadly I haven't had any time to reread in preparation and I fear I've forgotten more than I'd like. I remember there being a summary of the current business of the world for The Gathering Storm in the form of a PDF and wonders if that's the case for the last book.

Hi I just tried again to purchase the prologue again and am still being told that people in Australia cannot buy it. Very annoying, to put it mildly. Has anyone in Oz found a way to obtain the prologue? Is it self contained or is it also included in the final book? Thanks

Is anyone else really annoyed by the way the mass markets of TGS and ToM have dropped the chapter titles from the top of each page? I find it a royal pain to flip and hunt for a specific passage/scene in either. I've actually started using my hardbacks instead in some cases, just because it is quicker. I wonder what prompted them to change that so close to the end...as well as inflate the page counts as well. There is NO way either book needs to be over 1,000 pages in mass market. LoC barely hit 1,000, and it was significantly longer. Ah well, I know these are tiny, tiny, geeky things.....rant over.

I can't imagine this hasn't been addressed a thousand times, but I couldn't find it. I have finished AMoL, but will keep this question spoiler free. . . Assuming "The Pattern" is not just for Randland (duh), and we have had quite a few people in the series who know more lives than their current reincarnation, wouldn't it make sense for some of them to know of other people in other places? The easy ones are Shara and Seanchan, but what of the Land of Madmen, the Blight or even some other people somewhere else? You would think people like Matt, Birgitte (and others) would have "lived lives" there.

So I was thinking we might have a fun Christmas themed thread, so exactly what it say on the tin, what would you get your favorite WoT characters for Christmas. I would get Mazrim Taim a coffee mug that say I'am the Boss! I would get Logain a copy of the book Egyptian Revenge Sells, not exactly his Paradigm but he is a smart man, he will figure it out. I would get Atal Mishraile a helmet for the next time the annoy Taim. I would get Tuon a all the female attendee's of a Reiki class. I would get Perrin a copy of the collectors edition of the new Werewolf the Apocalypse core book. I would get Moiraine a tshirt that say F*** Tinkerbell fairies eat mag…

In regards to these playing cards from Taveren Tees: https://taverentees.com/threads/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=85&zenid=6b6791fec0af55bce45f17511203b068 Is there a list of what cards are which characters? I want to make a framed image with all of the cards displayed with the character's names underneath each card, but I only recognize some of the characters on the cards (like Mat, Perrin, Rand, Nynaeve, Thom, and the other more notable ones). That leaves much of the deck unknown to me. If there is not a list, is there any chance some of the kind people here could help me comprise a partial list? Thanks!

One of the things that put me off starting WOT earlier was its daunting size. I am a non-stop reader but it is at least 75% non-fiction. Most of the 'contemporary' fiction I read comes in the form of vintage SF or detective stories. I get my 'fantasy' fix almost entirely from religious mythologies, medieval romances, and other 'source' texts. WOT looked like a mountain of reading. The approaching end of the series prompted me to finally give it a try. I had vague memories of EOTW from 1990. I am now in the middle of TGH. The series has now officially ended. No prequels, sequels, or 'outriggers'. Just the 15 books. I'm guessing that more than a few fans who saw th…

a VENGEANCE!!! ;-) LoL - just kidding. It will be with a Full Review for A Memory of Light. Until my first read through of this novel, however, (which should be within the next week - the Light willing) - I will be absenting myself from these wonderful forums as I have already (through mostly MY own fault) spoiled myself in a few unfortunate ways. So, as to remove temptation and pure chance from the equation, I am going to break a bit. Dragonmount rocks. The people here rock. This place has been a good friend to me through some TOUGH times and I am grateful. So, see you all soon...and: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :-) Fish

So, I'm under a fairly strict non-disclosure agreement, which means in general i can't take part in the fun teaser discussion of those who get the book early--which is absolutely fine, I was shocked and beyond happy when I was told Peter was organising an early copy for me, especially given the positions I've taken. So, I can't tease you about, really, anything. Except this, because it came via something other than the book, or my reading of it, and has no place in my nda, and i figured the answer out completely without any aMoL information. There is a thing in aMoL that may look like a mistake to some, but is not to any. The answer is clearly stated in tDR, a…

I would appreciate it, and mean no disrespect, but if members would leave spoilers out of their signatures I would be most grateful. I would turn signatures off but they help me in the RP section.

So what? Possible? What do our little Heroes of the Horn do to kill time? They can't sleep? Kind of excruciating don't you think? Around 100 years awake? I think it's a silly reason to say that you can sleep in TAR, but well I kind of believe it...why not? True that you can die in horrible manners while sleeping in the TAR but still, even if it's not recommended, why wouldn't it be possible. Don't know. Any ideas? EDIT: This is about 'in the flesh', just forgot to mention it xD EDIT2: I'm aware Horn Heroes aren't in the flesh but they live in the TAR so the situation is the same.

If you have any questions for Brandon Sanderson and/or Harriet post them here. I can ask them for you when I meet them at the signing and go out to dinner with them on the 8th. You can also pm me your questions, which will be easier for me to check. I'll check Dragonmount at night on the 7th. Will be meeting him on the 8th. If there is anything you've been dying to have asked please let me know.

So with this last and final book getting ready to be out there for all of us to enjoy, will you as a reader still keep coming to Dragonmount? I dont think i will, for the reason for me is that i wont need to be on here to see it any more it will be done ive only been on here to keep track of things for my self. So i really think that after its all said and done, ill just stop comming everyday. I may come back now and then if i do another reread but other than that i dont think i will.Really no reason for me to come on.

Hi, I'm trying to collect the wheel of time in hardback and twice I've ordered the eye of the world and once the dragon reborn and got silly midget hardbacks. I guess they are the bookclub editions. Does anyone have a surefire way to make sure the next time I order one of these I get the full size hardback? Thanks

I've been waffling throughout my reading of the series as to whether this is the last last battle or not. My current opinion is: it is the last last battle. My primary reason for believing this is that I've read a few interviews with RJ talking about the Wheel and how he thought the Greeks had such a great breakthrough in viewing time as more linear than cyclical. After reading a few of those quotes, it seemed to me that he thought it was such an imortant moment in history that he may be trying to parallel it in the series. This is of course, conjecture. In a short time I'll have my answer!

Please no spoilers! My AMoL is coming today. I could get started now, by rereading the Prologue & Chapter 1 in electronic format, and hopefully by the time I finish, AMoL will be here and I'll start on Chapter 2. (I know Chapter 2 is available as audio, but I want to read it.) My question -- does anyone know whether the Prologue & Chapter 1 pre-released are exactly the same as what we'll get inside the real book? If there are going to be corrections, I'll just wait and read the "real" version.

I am reading Lord of Chaos and a few chapters ago read something about Tel'aran'rhiod in which I'm a little sketchy on the details and can't remember which chapter this occurs: I can't remember if this is from Rand or Egwene's point of view but its stated that whilst in Tel'aran'rhiod one of the two is able to make out other realms or something to that effect. In one of these it's observed impossibly tall structures (skyscrapers), large wings with no bodies (hang gliders or jets) and flat rain drop's that travel fast along straight lines (vehicles driving along a road). Is this as obvious as it sounds...ie...our world? Is it expunged upon further in the series? I…

Forgive me if there's already a place of discussion for this, I could not get the search function to work whatsoever. What does everyone suspect Fain's main goal for marching towards Shadar Logoth is? Does he intend to side with the forces of the DO? In my mind, The Last Battle will be a three way battle between Rand, the DO, and (the most powerful by a long shot) Fain. His binding to the evil of Shadar Logoth is something I don't believe prophecy ever accounted for. It's a monkey wrench in the wheel of time, and could very well be the reason the world is seeing it's final conflict between Shai'tan and the Dragon. In dealing with Fain, I feel as though the f…

Spoiler alert. I finally finishing my re-read of the series. I confess, I skipped Crossroads entirely, all the Faile Shaido captivity chapters until KoD, most of the Matt/Tuon chapters, and all the Elayne Andor succession chapters. Made the re-read a LOT faster and more enjoyable for me. Anyway, as I wrap up Towers of Midnight, I'm starting to realize just how much potentially awesome stuff got shortchanged, and is going to be shortchanged in the final book. I'll just name two: 1. Moiraine's rescue, and Moiraine in general. Moiraine was a badass. She is as close to the Gandalf character as you can get for the series. One of the few female characters in the ser…
