I'm watching the first Harry Potter movie on television for the first time and lord does it ever suck.

The first couple aren't that impressive, they do get better by the 4th and 5th one though. Not that any of them will ever make my list of favourite movies...

Yeah, that's what I've heard. Apparently Rowling was satisfied with them, though. Maybe from an adaptation standpoint it's a good film, but taken on its own, it's just horrible. Especially the cgi.

   Sorry Barm, I'm a little on edge with having two days off in the last 3 weeks and working both jobs most days. I guess I'm a little cranky. *Bows to all* My apologies to one and all.

Even from an adaptation point they aren't that impressive, the first three do ok, but by the fourth one they cut out every single side plot in there because the core story takes up so much of the film.

And Bonzo, thats cool, don't worry about it, just keep in mind to keep in check in the future.

Well, I was initially only watching it while Smackdown was at commercial, so I can only account for the adaptation from the forest on, which, while more or less accurate, was still sort of paint-by-numbers and boring.

The only thing that movie really has going for it is when you look a the actors now, then look at them then, its kind of a "Holy crap they're young!" thing...

    I think some of the adults did pretty good acting for instance the dudes who play Snape, Lupin, Weasley, and Black. Mrs. Weasley gets better and I always liked Magonagal.
