Man, if anyone needed proof that the Japanese think even less of other nations than Amerikans do, Gundam Neo is it.

The Japanese Emperor visited Canada recently, it didn't even make the news until the day before he went home.

That's probably because he's even less important to his own government than the Queen.

Bah to the Queen, she's coming to visit Canada next year, why do we need the Queen still? she's across an ocean from us.

Of course there is something to be said for monarchy and inherited rule: not everyone who gets the job is the type who actually wants it, which is of course the last person who should be in charge of anything.

Though in this age the only value monarchy has anymore is to have lots of money and have tea with foreign dignitaries.

Right, well, I think the point I was getting at was that this age sucks.

 

Not that any other age was any less suckulous, just that the problem with representational government is the people being represented.

Well, I blame missing that on being tired, which, since I have to be up at some point tomorrow, is probably where I mention that I need to go to bed.

Moreover, putting the power in the hands of the People is a right fine idea up until you realise that the People are all stupid.

 

Bed sounds good. Early wake-up sounds bad, but is equally likely.

A pity that we are all eventually forced to give in to the demands of RL.
