re-reading the book focusing on Perrin's Timeline, there is something wrong/whack/they are missing a few days minimum in my opinion also the problem of jumping timelines DO NOT MAKE SENSE between egwene and perrin's interactions as well. Perrin sees Rand's epiphany on Dragonmount sometime between the trial date set and the actual trial. the viewing was on day 2 most likely. then the trial "a few days" -shall we call it 5 days? -later- trial ends;they leave - that day- perrin breaks the dreamspike- that NIGHT..makes the hammer- that night- does battle References: end of gathering storm- dragonmount scene- lets call that day 0 - epiphany day. day …

Last night I dreamed I was in T'A'R. My clothes kept changing, as did the things in the room around me. About halfway into the dream I figured out where I was and teleported to Caemlyn. Then I wandered around until darkfriends attacked and I used my dream-given warder powers to own them. It was the best dream ever. Has anyone else ever dreamed that they were in T'A'R?

  3. I never quite figured this out. Something is tickling at my memory that - at the time - I had presumed the ''Hands'' were Mat and Perrin and that them ''Faltering'' referenced the significant trials they each endured in that book...however, events in the series since COT have cast massive amounts of doubt on this theory, imo. - Fish

At some point in the book Min has a viewing about Gawyn breaking Egwene's neck. Min states she saw this vision flickering and changing with a vision of Gawyn kneeling to Egwene, and that she'd never experienced this before. Does this mean she was seeing two possible paths Egwene's future could take? Was it refering to Gawyn's decision to return to the WT just in time to save Egwene from the Bloodknives? On one hand it seems to fit, but seeing Gawyn actually break Egwene's neck seems very specific to simply be a metaphor for her dying without his aid. Also (I know it's not related to ToM, but don't want to make a seperate thread for such a minor point) I was intrigued…

  5. No one told me what is going to happen in the final volume of the Wheel of Time, but thanks to mescal, shrooms, and an iso tank; I now can reveal the plot lines in their entirety. Caution: those of you unprepared for what follows may have your eyes burned out. However, if you do not fear watching a solar eclipse, then I welcome you to read on. Our story begins with Lan and his army at Tarwin's Gap. Unfortunately, Lan hasn't seen fried chicken or a burger for 1000 leagues and he's really starting to get sick of rations. The shadow, seizing upon an opportunity, builds the facade of a White Castle right on the North side of Tarwin's Gap. This diabolical maneuver …

Hey thanks to the lengthy winter break i was finally able to finish this wonderful novel. I was wondering what people thought about the significance of Rands dream was when he dreamed of Lanfear being tortured. Do you think it was a trick? Any significance at all? Just want some opinions :)

So I was looking at WoT art the other day and came across this new(I think it's new) picture of Rand, Rand All I could say was, HOLY GUACAMOLE! This fabulous. The artist did say it is a work-in-progress and I hope so 'cause he needs some color in his eyes and I 'm not sure I like his Bon Jovi hair style, but the color is perfect, his Aiel build is perfect, you can see his mother in his face, you can also see the "shadow of the wolf" in his eyes (that he's been through a lot) and a bit of sadness that Egwene talks about sometimes, and he's beautiful. And, she didn't add a dimple/cleft to his chin! Why do so many artists do that? This has taken its place wit…

I'm saving my money to buy ToM. The paper back is not yet out and I don't want to wait for one year after the release of the book, like what happened with TGS. My question is, content-wise, is there any difference between the big expensive book and the relatively cheaper paper back version? Thanks...

Is it because most of the Ter'angreal (forgive the spelling) that the AS possess are from the time of the AOL and shortly after? Is it because the Seanchean only use women to build Terangreal? Could Elayne actually understand all of her half functional Terangreals are flawed not because she is, but because she isn't working with a man? Of course this goes into my basic theory, that to answer all of these questions you need more books, a published outline, or a GIGANTIC epilogue.

Elayne seeks to make him a steward or some form of duke to legally confirm his new status in hopes of not having to move against him in a military fashion. So technically he would still be subservient to the crown of Andor. However does this not raise some issues in and on itself. From what I understand that besides now being the ruler of Two Rivers. He is also the lord of the Queen of Ghealdan by oath of fealty and is also married to the 1st cousin of the childless Queen of Saldea. The Marshal-General of Saldaea being his father-in-law. Wouldn't the most frugal thing at this point be to grant autonomy to the Two Rivers lest you risk possessing a noble lineage i…

It seems I am drawn mostly to the issue of the Seanchan's use of Damane far more than any other anything I have read in the whole series. I can't help but think that a solution needs to be provided regarding their use of damane before any meaningful truce with the rest of randland can come about, especially after the Last Battle. The Seanchan originally leashed female channelers because they were a destructive force back in Seanchan, they fear the unbridled use of the One Power and so they sought to control and harness that power via the A'dam. That particular aspect of the Seanchan culture has been the most divisive issue that makes it hard for people to accept the …

The woman came to stand over the bed - her movements were so graceful, Min felt a stab of envy, though she had never before envied any woman anything - and smoothed Rand's hair as if Min were not there. "He doesn't believe yet, I think. He knows, but he does not believe. I have guided his steps, pushed him, pulled him, enticed him. He was always stubborn, but this time I will shape him. Ishamael thinks he controls events, but I do." Her finger brushed Rand's forehead as if drawing a mark; Min thought uneasily that it looked like the Dragon's Fang. Rand stirred, murmuring, the first sound or movement he had made since she found him has lanfear marked rand?

  15. We all know that AS can't lie, blah blah blah... and we know that AS can speak a lie if they believe it to be truth. It still just makes me curious about Elaida calling Egwene a DF during the dinner disaster so it obviously means that she sees Egwene as a true DF. But why? Sure, Elaida really really does not like this girl but Egwene hasn't really given her a reason to think her of the shadow, you know? And then I think about Mesaana. Is there a hint in that Elaida/Egwene/name calling scene that would a apply to Mesanna and the Oath?

I was reading the timeline on the wot wiki site, here . I noticed something almost immediately as I'm sure anyone who took the time to read it would have. When the New Era begins, about every 30 years we have a new Amyrilan. These are women who live for hundreds of years, yet after being nominated to the Seat, they die on average every 30 years. The timeline doesn't give information as to where the women came from before being selected to the Seat, but even if we assume they are ALL Sitters, isn't this a short time to serve? Even if it wasn't, there should be some large variations between Amyrilans, yet almost to a woman they are dead on average within 30 years. It breaks…

One of Egwene's dreams, still unfulfilled as far as I know: Mat, weighing two Aes Sedai on a huge set of balance scales, and on his decision depended....She could not say what; something vast; the world, perhaps. We have certainly seen Mat interact with Aes Sedai, but not with anything huge at stake. I think Mat will be forced to choose sides in a dispute between two Aes Sedai, either at Merilor or later at SG. Knowing Mat and Aes Sedai, I think we can assume that the Aes Sedai in question will be among those close to him, becuase otherwise he would not involve himself in their dispute, or if he was close to one and not the other, his propensity for personal…

I was cleaning the other day and stumbled across some old scetches of mine. I know these 5min.-instant-drawings are nothing compared to some great pics and portrays which are found across the web and on various fan sites. Still, I was wondering what other readers see while reading, so I posted some of my scetches. I think it's suposed to be a street in Bandar Eban, an Impression of an Aiel settlement, the Andoran Palace, Sunpalace and a view of WT. Anyway, They're just some pencil strokes on a sheet of paper, so I figured anybody could do that, feel free to share your own . Most of the time, readers associate things they already know, or things they've already seen …

I was just wondering if there's mention anywhere else in the books or in WOT histories of another initiate to the Tower being raised straight to Accepted in the manner that Nynaeve was? I can't recall any but I'm always finding things I missed first time round in rereads and am sure other people have far better memories! Would just be interesting to see if she's a once off, especially when you throw her inital block into the mix...

So I have an audition coming up soon, and I will need a monologue prepared. I would love to do a monologue from WoT, but can't remember all of them or where they're at, or let alone which ones are the best. I remember my favorite one being mat complaining about what it's like to argue with a woman. What are your favorites and what chapter/book are they in? Thanks for all the help, dragonmounters! :)

I am a really long prologue and two chapters into KoD and couldn't help but notice that Lillaine was assisting Egwene at the end of CoT in her scheme to turn the chain gate at Northarbor into cuindillar. It also seems that Suian's channeling ability has returned to full strength as well. Did I miss something? I thought it was clear that being healed from stilling only restores a fraction of one's previous ability to channel and yet both Suiane and Lillaine seem to have their full strength back.

As part of this topic, I'm also curious to hear if people do their re-reads in one fell swoop, or if they do it in phases? The reason I'm asking is that I've re-read the series a few times so far. I certainly enjoy the re-reads, and always get plenty of new outlooks after each re-read. However, I re-read the series in the months leading up to the release of Towers of Midnight (I took a one-week breatk midway to read a short, nonfiction book). My re-read took me right up to the release date of Towers. While I enjoyed Towers, I felt (I hate to day this) slightly burnt out on the Wheel. Obviously, too much of a good thing is....indeed, too much. Anyway, I was …

A question has been bothering me, so I thought I'd ask if anyone had any info or opinions. After the Forsaken were freed, why didn't they link and open the bore or drill a new one themselves? If the TP is so much more powerful than the OP and they had access to both, why not just do the deed and get it over with?

Moiraine related a story about Manetheren & Aemon & Eldrene, in the story it was said that Aemon & Eldrene, had a love that Death could not sunder.Maybe Mat isn't Aemon reborn but you'd agree Mat is a direct decedent of Aemon & Tuon would be Eldrene's direct decendant. "live once more a part of what was." The Finns Gave this as one of Mats answers & I'm positive it has to do with the story of Aemon & Eldrene.

  25. Alright, this is similar to the most annoying characters. No debates, as there are endless topics debating the pro's and con's of each of these characters. Just a simple statement of favorite and why. Since it can be hard, perhaps put top 3 in post. Mine: Mat: I didnt think Mat could get any more awesome after KoD, but ToM, Mat owned everything. Rescuing Moiraine and knowing he would get his eye cut out is just simply awesome. Rand: Close second to Mat. Rand Sedai is the ultimate. Humble yet strong. While he is not perfect, I think he is as perfect a character as you can get post VoG. Knowledgeable and wise. Perrin: Laughed at Egwene trying to …

  26. Hello all, Very new here, sorry for the cryptic title I am not sure if I should be stating too much in a title. Did have a scan through the posts here but as I am only on book 9 am scared of spoliers! This has been driving me a bit mad for days now and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere on the net, I just seem to bump into Towers of Midnight discussions. Perhaps one you good people could help me out :). When Min recognises Birgitte in 'WH: 12: A lily in Winter, Aviendha doesn't react to Mins's finding out she is the Birgitte of legend. Hi. There are many speculations about AMOL and what is going to happen in the LB. It´s quite obvios what the male forsaken will be up to. Dem is going to be super general number one and meet Mat on the battlefield. Moridin is going to have some sort of duel with Rand. But what roll will the lady forsaken play? Here are some thougths: Moggy - She is going to have jet another fight with Nyn. Ofcorse she will lose, since she is in fact a looser. We know that Nyn knows how to make balfire... Graendal - We don´t know what happend to her in the end of TOM besides that she had a creepy meeting with SH. Was she mindtrapped? It would certainly fit it Moridin has three wome…

So when Rand started the 'black tower' i was really excited about the potential that this had as an army. An 'army' of channelers has not been seen, not even in the A.O.L. (???). After Dumai's Wells we see their potency, they 'disperse' the Shaido in a matter of minutes i believe. Why hasn't Rand used them to consolidate the countries or at least expel the Seanchan? I realize that the Seanchan have Damane, but damane do not work together, where as the Asha'man do (see dome of weaves butted up against each other). Damane are weapons by themselves, but so are the Asha'man. The damane are really no more than support or auxillary units for their armies, and as such, must …
