Hello everyone, this is my first post! I saw recently that there was a WoT game released for the PS3 console, so I thought I would hop on here and ask if anyone has tried it? Does it do it justice, if so? Also I saw where there is a Wheel of Time movie to be released next year! On a side note, I play (and have been playing for 6+ years) a Wheel of Time game. It is a MUD (Multi-User Dungeon/Deminsion.) I seen some OLD posts discussing the same game on here. So any old players that have played TGH (The Great Hunt) MUD, I would like to let you know that we are still alive and kicking at tghmud.org port:8500, and any of you out there who would be intersted in…

It's said that the 13 Forsaken that were emprisoned into the Bore were the "most powerfull" of them all, or something like that. However, during the War of Power it's said that the Chosen were a lot more than 13 (39 if I remember correctly). I think it's too bad we never hear about other 26, about the intrigues they may have had between the surviving Chosen. Something like "Sammael can't trust Graendal, because he remember during the WoP, Graendal associated with **random name X of other long dead Forsaken** but betrayed him/her when she allied with **random name Y of other long dead Forsaken**. Yeah, I know it would be kinda pointless, but there are so many pointle…

first of all, forgive me if someone brought the idea before, i haven't read these forums that far back. having read and re-read the series as well as the world of the wheel of time, i've had this crazy notion. what if the dark one isn't really this immortal, super power, creator level being everyone assumes he is? consider the following points during the AoL, no one knew about the DO, even after the bore was made, no one knew what they were facing until Elan Morin (aka Ishamael) "announced to the world what it was that they faced" (guide, page 63, under ISHAMAEL section). as far as we know, there are no light side sources of knowledge about the DO. …

Does anyone else think that he might have some importance before the end of the series, when he spoke with elayne she remarked how clearly he saw the situation, and the odds. (CoT pg 332)

This is not a huge topic or anything, but I was writing up the list of Cadsuane's ter'angreal and I remembered this. This raises the question of what a paralis-net is. The Encyclopaedia WoT offers the suggestion that a paralis-net is a group of ornamental ter'angreal designed to protect and/or serve the wearer as a weapon--which seems plausible, but if so why specify that the paralis-net was in her hair? If these ter'angreal are always ornaments wouldn't the name include the point that they were being worn? For instance you wouldn't say 'the cursed woman with all the jewellery on her body', you'd just say 'the cursed woman with all the jewellery.' I stil…

I'm new to these forums, so I'm sure there are probably lots of posts about this. However, I'm curious as to what people think, or if someone can point me in a good discussion direction. Does it seem like Luc and Isam merging into one person is a type of foreshadowing to what will happen with Rand and Moridin? Do we have any ideas as to why it happened with them, how it happened, and what it means for the last battle? It seems like that Aes Sedai (can't think of her name) that sent Rand's mother away, and Luc (or was it Isam) away must have had a reason. For Rand's mom, it turned out pretty well for the world, but for Luc, not so much. I'm only about hal…

I'm currently reading KoD, and from what I've read I have a pretty good guess of what will happen in the last battle. It mentions Aelfinn and that Rand asked them How to win the Last Battle and live. They tell him that to Live, he must die. My theory is that the voice of Lews Therin is literally his spirit, within Rand. I got this idea from the many times Lews Therin has mentioned wishing he could die so he could see his wife again. I think it means he never passed to the next life. He has been kept from passing on as part of the prophecy. I believe it is possible that Rand is not actualy Lews Therin reincarnated, but a new spirit that has been intertwined with the…

The Dark One starts killing everyone close to Rand in the last battle. Then Rand does his duel with him and eventually destroys him with Balefire causing him to get ripped outta the pattern then everything goes back to the old two river days?

Who Killed Sierin Vayu If you believe Chesmal Emry, it was the Red Ajah, acting under her manipulations. This does fit fairly neatly with the other information we have. For instance we know that after Meilyn’s death Siuan slid a note under Sierin’s door informing her of Siuan’s suspicions that the Black Ajah had murdered her [NS; 18, A Narrow Passage]. If Sierin were to act on this note then her eye would have naturally turned to Chesmal Emry who was the Yellow who delved Meilyn, and announced her death. Presumably Sierin found some proof, or perhaps Chesmal freaked that she was even being considered. Of course this leaves us with a few question…

The FAQ asks the question of who the random third fellow in Rand's head is. http://www.siliconcerebrate.com/faqs/wotfaq/2_nondark/2.1_taveren/2.1.7_thirdman.html Essentially the third man is Moridin. We learn this in KoD-18-News For the Dragon. As for how Moridin manifesting in Rand's head, Rand himself figured that out. And indeed, we see that link form. And it is on the next page that we first see the link active. This raises the question--exactly how does the link work. It seems to have two different roles, the first being passive, and the second active. Passive Transferal The thread already lists …

During all these dream world scenes with the Forsaken involved, the Forsaken choose areas that we see later in the books. There's one setting early in The Dragon Reborn that I don't believe we've seen yet. Perrin walks in on Lanfear and she seems shaken that he could be there. In the chapter Wolf Dreams in The Dragon Reborn, The light suggests he is in an actual location in TAR, too. He starts shouting that he wants to wake up and Hopper sends a message to him to run. So he starts running. Then we see a bit more of his area, He comes on a nobleman who seemed to have dreamed himself there. The strips of shadow writh and one reaches out and d…

You mad as hell, and a little Emo. The world sucks, you just want to watch it burn. hmm. Here's what I'd do. I'd realize that Rand is never going to switch sides and work with me. So I'd say fine, why don't you kill all the Chosen for me (I never liked those guys anyway, even though they paint their rooms black too) meanwhile you're ripping apart the fabric of the wheel, screwing up everything for me, and I'm free to sit back and listen to some bad garage band music while rolling joints with the shards of fabric Rand tosses out. burn baby burn. what would you do?

Rand al'Thor and Padan Fain are both infused with the shadow of the Dark One and Shadar Logoth. Both of them seems to have found a balance within themselves of the two different poisons. But what does it mean for the Last Battle and how does this help them win it? Do they fuse together somehow to form the seal that will keep the Dark One at bay?

I compiled this list on 'unfulfilled' visions for myself and I thought I would post it to see if anyone has any ideas. I don't always have the exact quotes, and i am sure that there are many more that aren't included here. just a rough list. - man juggling fire - vision about Thom - Trees flowering around Perrin - Vision of Egwene being tied to Galad - vision of Elayne 'a red hot iron and an axe' - glory above all other men for Logain - Carlinya and her Raven Tattoos - “a bloody hand and white-hot iron...” -- only the white hot iron part peaks my interest. - the second time that Perrin saves Rand's life. - the Moridin merge thing... it just seems t…

There was a similar topic on a movie fan site, but I wanna' know what the Dragon Mount folks think. You guys are the REAL fans. So, are you excited, nervous, angry or what? What are your opinions? I am very excited but a little scared too. I just hope they don't pull any punches in the budget department. This movie has to be epic. Casting is going to be important too. Who would play a good Mat or Parrin? Or Rand for that matter?

Sorry if this has been discussed to death already, or if it's super obvious in the books and I just missed it my first time through. I'm starting on my second reading of the series, and I just came across this passage in chapter 21 of Eye of the World, when Moiraine is telling Nynaeve she can channel: "Those were only reactions," Moiraine said patiently. "Each time, the reaction comes closer to the actual touching of the Source, until the two happen almost together. After that there are no more reactions that can be seen, but it is as if a clock has begun ticking. A year. Two years. I know one woman who lasted five years. Of four who have the inborn ability that you …

I was just reading a New Spring, and came across a sentence that made me chuckle: "Ryne fingered one of his braids, then gave it a hard tug that made its bells jingle." and then: "Ryne grimaced and have his braid another hard pull." What if Ryne Venemar is actually Nynaeve's father? ;D that way she's actually Malkieri and explains Lans attraction ;D and it also means that Lan killed her father. What say you? ;)

In "New Spring," Lan thinks to himself one time, "As sure as peaches are poison, you cannot trust an Aes Sedai." What does that mean? Is this a Sword of Truth type thing where fruits are poisoned, or is it some expression that I don't understand?

Since Siuan can lie after being stilled, is the whole story about Logain and the red ajah total BS or did this actually go down. Its never really said outright that its a fabrication and everyone takes it for fact but it seems kinda far fetched to me. So is his Siuan glad as hell she can lie again or did this actually go down

Has anyone else noticed that RJ has put in a little lesbianism but no gay guys in the series. I mean, there is that sea folk windfinder and the Cairhienin noblewoman who Caddy blackmails that they were pillow friends. We then notice that the windfinder would be charged with breaking her marriage-vows for having a pillow friend. In KOD Tarna reflects on the fact that there are many novices who become pillow friends. How Elaida tells Tarna that her and Meidani used to be pillow friends. How Galina made approaches to Tarna to become pillow friends. There are all these girl on girl homosexuality examples but no gay guys whatsoever that I've been able to find. Why is th…

Masuri, Annoura and the Shiny Dragon Man Ok, in this thread I'm going to try to offer an answer for two mysteries. Who is the Fake Rand who appears to Masema in tGS, and who are Masuri and Annoura meeting with in Masema's camp throughout KoD. It's somewhat convuluted, so bear with me. Who are Masuri and Annoura Meeting With? In KoD Masuri and Annoura (and Masuri's Warder) are seen within Masema's camp by Havier, one of the Cha Faile. The question is--who were they going to meet, and why? Masema Perrin believes they went to meet Masema himself, which stands to reason given that (to Perrin) he is the only figure in that camp worth an Aes S…

Do you think the Gholam will chase Mat all the way to the ToG? It'd be interesting seeing a final confrontation between the two. Perhaps Moiraine will contribute to its death? She could have seen her release from the tower and asked for a gift from the Finn. On another note, do you think the True Power can harm them? It never said either way. How does Morry react to him? Also... Will TG see the release of the other 5 Gholam? That is, if they were ever sealed? Interesting thought. =D

Could Padin Fain kill the Gholam with his dagger? Shadar Logoth, while it existed seemed pretty effective when it came to killing Shadow Spawn. If some remnant items of Shadar Logoth can be found, could it be used to destroy the Gholam?

In book 9 during the scene where Rand encounters Padin Fain in the inn in Far Medding, the two renegade Ashaman walk up the stairs and inexplicably implicate Taim as being the orchestrator of their attempts to kill Rand. It appears to have been made clear that what they say is within ear shot of Rand, yet he seems to not acknowledge what they say at all, he doesn't ponder over it in his chapters in book 10(as far as I've gotten)and when Logain informs him of the way in which Taim is running the Black tower, he doesn't mention what the two said, nor think of it, and simply says that taim will have to wait. Surely if he knew Taim ordered him killed, he would not allow the m…

Disclaimer: I don't even know how much I buy into this myself, but I find the possibility interesting. I took this directly from a thread on tGS that was slightly off topic, and so it didn't draw even a comment. I just want to see if anyone else has anything else to say about it. Be'lal was killed by balefire. He's the only balefire victim who wasn't directly or indirectly killed by Rand (Sammael was killed indirectly by Rand, but directly by Mashadar). None of the others have come back, but all of those who have died through non-balefire means have returned. The mechanics are explain so that, after each soul perishes, the Dark One has a period of time where the…

Ok just been doing another re-read of the series and have just finished tDR, sorry if this has been disscussed anywhere else, couldn't find anything. Now in tDR we see something wierd happen with Mat's luck that I don't think we've seen the like of with his luck before or after. It's during the scene in Tear where Mat's just rocked up and is looking for the girlies, he finds Comar (the guy sent by Rahvin to hunt the girls) in some tavern and decides to dice with him, Comar is using weighted dice to cheat and i'm not sure if this is why the description we get is very odd but anyway as Mat picks up Comar's dice this is the quote: "He spilled the dice onto the tabl…
