There'd better not be any upgrades any time soon; it took them at least two years of planning to make the changeover to the DM 8 boards happen and that was a year ago and they're still bugfixing.

I wasn't even on DM at the time - I was avoiding Fiddles specifically for pretty much the whole of 2010 due to the people who were inhabiting it at the time - so I didn't get to see how bad it actually got. I was here when they did the switch from 6 to 7, though, that was fun. Took two weeks before the color scheme stopped changing daily.

they lost all the posts, slowly, like a bleed. what i was doing at the time (podcasts, and commenting, and having fairly long conversations about them which were interesting to the few of us involved) totally disappeared. the colors were seizure inducing, and nobody wanted to admit it. the bugs were...

well, they were worse than they are now.

really don't need my virtual world shaken up like that again. bad enough when it happens out here.

Although some people had fun with it right up until the admins figured out that they'd somehow enabled the ability for users to change their names whenever they felt like it.

before here, all the places i;d ever hung out let you do that. people can usually be ID'ed by their writing style, though some are better at changing it than others. but... internet. so, object permanence is not something i look for here.

I like that this thread grew like 50-60 posts this morning, that's a good thing. I could wish that it had been more than two people, as that could mean that activity was picking up here again, but as long as it was more than one, I am content.

two people with graphomania can really perk up activity. one even, but that would not please you, so i'm glad to have been here for it.

Well, one person going off by themselves isn't activity, that's posterbation, and it's bad. I want to see post sex happening here. I want Fiddles to be a post orgy.

Because making someone have to work to read your posts is obnoxious *flays strips of skin from your back and weaves them into your hair*

And here I was, all this time, thinking people liked to work for me...because...because they LOVED my awesomeness!!! *cwies*

Ouch. *picks up a mirror* Second thoughts, the skin off my back does look nicer in my hair, dunnit???

*hammers rey's toes flat in revenge, then cuts them off and pickles themm with sardines and garlic* :ewgarlic:

Actually he was referencing an extremely overrated video game.
