I'm curious. There have been people that (well at least it hinted) swapped genders, and were able to wield the original one power of their original gender side. My question... In your opinion...what would someone that is 'intersexed' (think hermaphrodite & all the variations therein) wield? Cuzzz thats the wonders of biology in that not EVERYONE is completely 'male & female'. For those that disagree look up klinefelters syndrome, gonadal dysgenesis, androgen insensitivity, hypospadias, XX XY mosaic, persistent mullerian duct syndrome, Turner Syndrome to name a few. :) should be interesting to hear your responses.

Something that came to my attention and I begun to wonder. Perrin's wound that he received in TAR and was healed still gave him pause afterwards. So I begun thinking back to tGH and how Rand and Ishy fought in the sky. We know that they can not fly so it is reasonable to think that their battle has something to do with TAR via The Horn connection. I know that I'm grasping in the dark on this, but I just figured to point it out. This is my first time posting here in a very long time, so I hope this is in the right area. I have already read the WoT series but I am starting to do a re-read, and I remembered about Mesaana's identity. I remember once before reading on here about how everyone knew it was going to be Danelle, but I myself completely missed this (as ashamed as I am to say that ^^;) So I ask now, what should I be looking for in my re-read that gave this fact away prior to Towers of Midnight?

I began to HATE Egwenw. ... You know, the mayor's kid? Well, maybe not the moment...but definitely and certainly The BOOK. FOH. The way she treated Elayne (who is FAR from Miss Perfect herself, but still) and my girl Nynaeve - ESPECIALLY in the Dreamworld. Where did she Get OFF arrogantly lording over the other two Super Chicks in that book??? You know...after LOVING her in TGS and being DISGUSTED by the mayor's kid in TOM, I realized that, really, the ONLY book in the entire series where I really liked her was TGS!!! ... So this is my theory. I do not think that rand will kill the DO (Dark One). if you go back to when he went though the dorway tir'anragal they told him to live he must die... This is reminiscent of Lews Therin, living on in rands mind... But if rand kills the DO then there would be no need for the Pattern to spin out another Dragon for the 4th age. so he will die forever and not live again as a voice in the next Dragons mind. I havent read many fantasy series but even when reading the harry potter series i noticed the sense of doom coming for harry potter with so many major characters dieing off and the dark side actually being scary, then in WOT the forsaken hasnt done one decent thing in this age, and they were supose to be the most feared and powerful aes sedai of the aol. Also no major characters have died besides verin since i cant even remember. Do you think this series would have been better if 1 or 2 major characters would have been killed off? it just seems like the light are in to good of a spot now and everyone alive, im not even fearful for the light that they will lose. im quite new to wot and started reading after TGS was released but you lots of theories going around did anyone predict the theory of verin being black ajah or was that a complete suprise to everyone? i noticed in the GH that verin refered to the do and the great lord or something along those lines did u theories work it out? what about the matt and hes ashendare(sp)?

I was curious why the WoT encyclopedia website www.encyclopaedia-wot.org/ was down, if anyone knew, or maybe it's just my computer. I find it essential with so many characters & plot lines to keep track of & no other site I've found is nearly so comprehensive a collection of information.

So, here I was reading through a theory on how the Dark One would die (and chatting about it), and I recalled the chapter about Aviendha's trip to Rhuidean. The viewings she had while within the columns were all possibilities... So why wasn't there one where the DO had won over the Dragon and forces of Light? Does this mean that Rand and the Light-siders will win, or did Brandon just not put it in there, and if not, why?

Just Started Book 6: LoC in my re-read. Demandred goes to visit the Pit of Doom. The Pit seems to be a physical location inside Shayol Ghul. Demandred says that he first visited the Pit over 3000 years ago. But, Demandred also reflects that, in the Age of Legends, Shayol Ghul was "an idyllic island in a cool sea, a favorite of those who enjoyed the rustic." In fact, the Forsaken were holding a company retreat at this resort when they were captured. Something doesn't add up here. If the Pit existed 3000 years ago at Shayol Ghul, that seems a bit out of place for "an idyllic island." Was it just hidden in the basement? Or, did the Pit form after the Forsaken wer…

Yeah yeah, I can hear the excuses already, "The DO isn't free enough in this Age for him to use the same dark energies he used to create the Shadowspawn before", or "He didn't need to, he already made everything there was to make" etc etc But still if you are a scientist you ARE a scientist and we never saw an OUNCE of scientist from Aginor in any version of himself which really was dissapointing. It would have been much more fun if we had one evil genius scientist creating new and exciting SS all the time, how cool would that have been!? I won't buy that there was nothing new to create!!

If you intend to and have not read The Crippled God by Steven Erickson (final book in the series) be warned there may be spoilers ahead... Today I finished the final book in Steven Erickson's Malazan book of the Fallen series (its a 10 book epic fantasy series that if you enjoy wot you really should read, just be warned though, as quick as rj was to describe Elaynes clothing, or nyns intricate hair tugs, s.e. characers are just as quick to wax romantic about the human condition be they a 300,000 year old walking skeleton or a 12 year old girl.). If I remember correctly, Demandred said earlier in the series that he'd only smile when he killed Rand. Will he kill Rand? And if so how do you think it's gonna happen?

First i wanna say hello to everybody since im a new member of dragonmount. Im rereading the series, i read it for the firts time maybe ten years ago. Im now reading LOC and reacted to the part when Demira Eriff, a salidarembassy aes sedai is attacked by black eyed aiel. It made me think of the weird aiel at the end of TOM. Its proabably no connection(?) but is it ever revelead who orderd the fake-aiel attack?

I am trying to put together a collection of WOT art work here that I find to be good attempts at following detail (more or less) or just exceptionally well done. I'm trying to find a particular piece but am having trouble finding it. It has a golden tone to it and it's a picture of RJ passing the Dragon Banner (I think) to BS while the characters are looking on. Any help in finding it is appreciated. Much Thanks

I seem to remember a scene where the Wise Ones had Aviendha (and Egwene) practicing unraveling small weaves. If it exists, in which book is that scene?

If I'm not mistaken, the blade of light Rand uses at the end of TEotW was not the same as Callandor. Also, Ishamael and Fain have given Rand wounds through the use of some sort of blade. So my question is, would it be ridiculous think think that Rand will Sheath the Sword on top of those wounds? That could possibly be another way that the "3 becomes 1" with blade injuries from the Dark, the Light, and Fains weird power. I'm not sure if this has ever been brought up before, but I'm just wondering if any of the hardcore fans have thought about, or even have a solid theory backing this up?

One of my biggest gripes in WOT was that RJ BEGAN several semi-compelling SLs, hinted and hinted at their many and dire complexities through often torturous build-up...then, POOF!!! ... A plot ''Twist'' wipes out everything that had been hinted at and that storyline is destroyed and the original mechanics of it never hinted at again...relating to this gripe, I never really did get the whole Rand/Mat/Bashere/Illian/Sammael/Graendal Storyline of FOH, LOC and COS. Lots of talk about ''Settling Sammael - just as soon as Im ready'' ... him ''Only thinking in straight lines'' ... ''They have to see you coming, Mat'' and talk of the ''Big Surprise'' and ''He'll never see it …

One thing that RJ mentioned alot - that I always enjoyed ever so very deeply - was the idea that just because some ''expert'' in the story (Moiraine, Aes Sedai, The Forsaken etc) said something did NOT neccesarily always make it true. They could be lying (well, not non-black ajah) or believing what they were saying but just plain WRONG! Ive been frankly mystified by the amount of opinions I have seen since VOG in The Great Storm/Book 12 asserting that it is now clear that LTT was NOT real and that LTT definitely WAS a sign of Rand's break in sanity that he used as a crutch. I dont get it and still don't believe it. There is NO evidence in VOG to support the theory…

When I read Hinderstrap in TGS, even though it had already been long-established that the Pattern is bending and the dead are walking, I was still like ''HUH??? Where did THAT come from - Sanderson just get a craving for a Zombie Story???!!!" Well. In LOC, Mazrim Taim tells Rand that he has already heard tales of quiet villages suddenly going crazy and the villagers all killing each other. Works for me. - Fish

Before you say "der, your an idiot!!", hear me out... In TEOTW, using the One Power, she made herself physically big enough to step over the wall. We all know that RJ had people doing things with the OP early on, that he thought better of later, is this one of them? Or did she use illusion, the Mask of Mirrors, to make herself 'appear' gigantic? If so, and picturing this always makes me giggle, wouldn't she have felt a right dolt, being little Moiraine and going through the motions of stepping over something, to make it appear as though her gigantic self was stepping over the wall? Ok... is it just me or does Robert Jordan have a really hard time creating likeable characters? Don't get me wrong, I love the whole WoT story line but the vast majority of his characters bother the heck out of me. Here's a small list of just a few of my grievances: 1)Egwene- thinks she knows what's best for everyone and is too quick to embrace views she'd previously rejected (i.e., suddenly wants to become Aes Sedai in Book 1, suddenly adopting ji'e'toh even though she once found it ridiculous) 2)Mat- more focused on drinking, gambling, and carousing than anything else 3)Elayne- suffers from the delusion that the world needs to bend to her will 4)Aes …

I was never a fan of Egwene, in fact I really don't like her. Then I wondered what do other people think about her.

I was always under the impression that they were all trapped, except for Ishamael who is only partially trapped, until the end of Eye of the World when Balthamel and Aginor appears. But then I read somewhere here that Semirhage was at large in Seanchan long before that and that she killed Tuon's Truthspeaker on the day before Winternight. That made me wonder, were all the other forsaken loose at that time? Or only some? If Lanfear was loose, it seems to me she would have come for Rand than she did. Nynaeve and Elayne took the original twisted ring to Ebou Dar and clearly use it LoC and WH. In CoT, Aviendha uses it to meet with Egwene when Elayne can't get the ring to work due to her pregnancy. By KoD, Elayne ends up giving the twisted ring and the amber turtle brooch to Aviendha to take with her when she leaves. In GS, Siuan thinks the hall has control of the original twisted ring because she is having to make due with the copy that Leane got from the hall before she was captured. In ToM, Egwene and Siuan think that Mesaana got the original twisted ring when Sheriam stole all the dream weavers for Mesaana and that Elayne would be mad not to have the original to …

In all of the Wot books my favourite battle would have to be between dumais wells and the cleansing of sai dean, i really liked the white tower attack by the sean chan but it was pretty much egwene solo. My favourite revelation/scenes would undoubtedly be verrins black ajah out age and nyneave healing stilling. What are yours?

BS made it fairly clear in his recent interview that the fat man angreal will show up. What are the theories on who's got it? I don't think it has been discussed recently. I thought for a while that Demandred might have it just because Demandred is a mysterious baddies upto something, well, mysterious. But I now think that this can be discounted because Demandred would surely take it to the fight at the Cleansing if he had it. Same goes for Osan'gar/Dashiva.
